Combat broken after last patch

Not sure which one did it but I took a break before kick was changed. When I came back it's unplayable for me.

All swings I make are like through glue, character is really unresponsive compared to before, lot of hits go unregistered, lot bounce off for no reason. The worst thing is that enemy usually seems to not have this problem and many swings hit me before I even see them. It's basically like I had 150+ ping while I have about 40.

Anyone else experiencing this? Right now I'm really pissed off because I simply cannot play like this.

I did try messing around with graphic settings, blood on/off, pre-rendered frames to 0 etc. To no avail.
 
i have lot of problem with archery, lot of arrows goes through the ennemy and dont register
 
I did feel some times where my arrows just go through the opponent. And by aiming exactly the same way, opponent not moving, arrow curve basically the same, that arrow does touch the ennemy in the chest. Happens just a bit too many times for me to notice it.
When looking at the arrow's trajectory, i'm pretty sure it's perfect, but just doesn't hit. Thought it was just me needing some glasses or better luck, but since somebody else noticed something similar, might as well tell my opinion too.

I'd say it's not worse just different. I had these issues before the recents patches as well when the server was full. What I find very annoying is that sometimes I can't block after I got hit, not because I didnt click the button in time, the server just don't register my block, especially vs polearms. I couldn't reproduce it in the duel server though, so it probably occurs when the server is laggish.
 
If I recall correctly, it was 1.127 or 1.125 that caused the higher frequency of glancing hits. I guess that's just something to get used to. I was irritated by it at first, but now that I'm used to it, I like how your aim plays a greater role in combat.

I haven't noticed the glueiness of swings, but some players have said that they think blocking has changed in some way (became harder?) in 1.130. While I thought this as well the first time I played it, I think I've gotten used to it. Anyway, I don't notice it anymore.

All in all, I think combat has only improved lately. For the first time in months, onehanders are completely back on the stage of the duel server, due to the harder kick. High speed infighting has returned with them, and I'm having more fun than ever, especially when duelling.
 
It was 1.127 that introduced bigger whiffs, and thats my biggest quip with the game. I can hit a 2h spammer (and an actual spammer, not just someone who's good) first, but because they are facehugging me, my attack whiffs and doesn't interupt them. Then they, without no thought of blocking the attack that i had started, had already started an attack that doesn't whiff because I try to back up and not facehug. :sad:
 
Been playing a bit, and combat seems to be fine once you get used to it, although a lowish ping is really necessary to make sure you dont make too many mistakes like glancing blows and such. Dueling is more fun, I think, since kick was nerfed and you can get to fight at really high speeds since most people wont try to spam kick anymore and you can concentrate on trading blows and feinting.

I haven't noticed anything changed about combat except the kick nerf which is good.

Same here. It was the first thing I realised when playing the new patch.
The opponent raises his axe for an overhead strike, I want to block, but I'm already dead, didn't even see the swing.

This thing with the arrows disappearing in the enemy, I had before, too. Once I watched 3 of my bolts disappearing in another crossbowman, and hit him with the 4th.  :roll:
But I don't think that problem became worse with the newest patch.
 
Didn't notice any difference with swing speed. I haven't been hit by invisible attacks either. It's true I didn't play much these days though.
Random whiffs (yeah I know not so random, but with a high ping or a facehugger, you can't really control distance and turning) are annoying, agreed.
 
I noticed it, and its like the hit detection was screwed while adding the blood. I remember to read somewhere that we didnt have blood in multiplayer coz it gave tons of problems to the devs. Like blood not coming after a hit or blood coming from a miss. So i think it was related to hit detection. And i suspect they change the network code and already "fixed" that problem adding some more checks ... im getting loads of misses when my sword just goes trough an enemy.... Ppl kills you and you dont even see their swings, sword getting stuck chambered after relasing the button and ppl getting killed from weird distances... something is really wrong with the game. I usually have a ping of 110 or so. It was playable before.. not that playable now...

This is the biggest beef for me. Naturally, what I do is back off, and if they insist on continuing to facehug me, I'd kick. Unfortunately, due to the latest patch, I cannot kick them, so it just turns into an endless cycle of me blocking and if I try to hit back it does not hurt them  :neutral:

Meh, this is true and hell annoying.
 
I bounce off a lot more than I used to. Also, my turn speed is really bad now and it feels like half the time I;m not in control of my character. Honestly though, whenever I try to kick someone I either miss and it kills me or I hit them then my attack doesn't go through because I'm too close.
 
What I noticed is that Archers have become deadly in the latest patches, playaing against vaegirs/khergits/surranid is basically playaing versus archer spam. Not that fun in my opinion. And they're so damn effective even against footmen with shield, not to mention their effectiveness against cavalry.

What rules this game are the ranged classes now.
 
About blocking: it feels all the time like I had an unabalanced weapon, can't block after missed swing. It seems also that it's ridiculously hard to hit with the pike, hitbox borked.
 
Actually I've reconsidered my position, it's much worse. I've played a bit today on the duel server, and after that a 100 ppl battle is slow laggish and slow that it's a shame. Yeah, lot more bounces now, especially vs plates (more than usual), "perfect" thrusts bounce off, really annoying.

Hits are faster than animations: also true. Sometimes there is absolutely no chance to block a hit.

I'd say the same, it uses to happen more often on full servers than when it's 30vs30. Also, I can't say for sure, but after get killed I use to go to the place where I was aiming the guy to just to check where my arrows hit, sometimes I just can't find them (I can't assure 100% this since sometimes there are too many bodkins to realize how many are actually mine).

Used to think it was some kind of mind trick, but I'm going to pay more attention now.

What I've noticed in duel servers is that the distinction between good and medium players became larger again. There seems to be less chance involved in who wins. Everything became a tad harder, which is not a bad thing, imo.

Anyway, I've never had my weapon pass through an opponent without damaging him. What I have noticed is the old beta overhead bug is back. Which means that an overhead sometimes does damage when he's already halfway through your body. This can be annoying, as you block up, see the overhead animation being executed, think it missed and try to attack yourself, but then still get hit, because the damage hasn't been done yet. This is only mildly irritating, but it's irritating nonetheless.
