Around the year 1500 Technology made available in Europe allowed the crossing of the Atlantic to the 'New World' in the west. It was around this time that the British decided it fruitful to Colonize this land mass which was later named The Americas. After Colonization of a large portion of The Americas Britain began to become extraordinarily rich thanks to fur and tobacco exportation, unfortunately it was not to last; a series of wars made it difficult for the British to keep a hold of their new found land. the colonies of British America and New France, with both sides supported by military units from their parent countries of Great Britain and France, declared war on each other in 1756. In the same year, the war escalated from a regional affair into a world-wide conflict, This was called the Seven Years War. Shortly after the end of this bloody conflict, high tax rates and a series of 'Intolerable Acts' by the British government in response to the 'Boston Tea Party' sparked the American Revolution in 1775 which finally let loose the British Empire's grasp on the now Independent Nation of America.
The Regiment
The Colonial British Empire is an active Persistent Frontier clan that prides itself on its serious and effective playstyle. We mainly play on the EU Server but we do have a good few US members. The CBE has three main detachments; Foot Guards, Green Jackets and Light Dragoons. These three detachments are designed to fill the three basic Roles needed to keep our faction on top: The Foot Guards form the backbone of our army, patrolling and taxing our lands, depending on numbers they usually form ranks when engaged with the enemy. The second detachment is the Green Jackets, these act as our skirmishers, they use large amounts of spacing and make heavy use of cover, the green jackets are equipped with rifles. The final detachment is the Light Dragoon Cavalry detachment, these horsemen are armed with a carbine and sword, however, there main purpose is scouting enemy positions rather than fighting. Our play style is mainly serious to make sure we get the job done but we also have fun in the process, We are already being recognized in game for our activity and valor. The CBE does not make use of ranks to ensure a feeling of equality between the enlisted, we do however have two officers per detachment to maintain good organization on the field of battle.
