I want to make a port scene which is bordered by an ocean instead of the hills you get on all the maps. Also it looks strange when you have a river on your map which is cut off on both sides... OK it's a lake.

Any idea if this is possible? I tried using the Terrain Generator in the game but there is no way to get rid of the hills. Is that a problem with the Generator or are the hills 'hard-coded' into the game?
 
What we need is a scene editor similar to Thorgrim's map editor - one where you can paint terrain yourself. Currently the random, unrealistic settings detract from gameplay.
 
with edit mode on your can generate some really nice terrains although you cant copy down the terrain code for new scenes, and it crashes alot :/

...saying taht i havent tried the new version.

To get the terrain code you have to copy down on paper. If you 'alt tab' to copy to notepad you lose the terrain and also it rounds up the code so it's completely different.

I take them all down. I think many of them don't change but to be safe.

Shorter ones are apparently valid as Armagan uses them for some scenes, but the terrain generator in the game only seems to generate the long ones like above. I'm using one similar to above for a generated terrain on a new scene myself.
 
I don't know about anyone else... but I would be all for a mod that modifies the battle scenes. The steep cliff/hills are something I'll gladly see nerfed!

Yep, me too. And the AI doesn't deal well with those steppy areas, they get stuck a lot, specialy horse units.

To make it harder for cavalry, and a tactical advantage for infantry, the game doesn't need such steppy clifs, some medium hills (as we get on some battle maps) would do the trick better.

Sorry if a little bit off topic.
