Very worth noting: As Resonant says, steam has to confirm the tags before they get added. That means that steam would not verify 'co-op' tag if the game did not include it. The only 'co-op' meaning there is to games is the fact that 2 or more players work towards a common goal. Multiplayer tag already exists as seperate. I doubt they tagged the game with 'co-op' implying the game is cooperative in multiplayer mode (i.e captain mode, team deathmatch). This tag is also the latest one, which got included after E3 which happened mid-June.

Its called automation, once a game is tagged a sufficient number of times by people it gets added as such to the storefront.

Also it's not unreasonable for the co-op to be referring to captain mode because it's both co-op And Multiplayer.

Most likely this. But as to draw Callum's attention and force a definitive answer, I hereby declare that campaign co-op has been officially announced unless stated otherwise by a Taleworld's member.

I mean a co-op tag could technically be added to Warband now as well, since you have a player cooperative game mode vs AI(The new invasion thing). This doesn't really mean anything.

Yup people found out about the coop tag ages ago, and the same things were said. Coop could literally be anything. I'd stick to the official info we got:

Will there be co-op?
We haven’t made any final decisions on co-op at this moment in time. We will make an announcement on this as soon as we have more information to provide.

This. I seem to remember TW did refer to that mode as co-op. The texture files for it maybe?

I believe the co op tag has been there a while? If you look in the history tab, I don’t believe its on there and it goes back 4 months.

What I want to know, in the graph tab/section it now mentions twitch streams...

Anyone know anything about that? Could be the footage/gameplay the press got to see. Callum, a livestream would be a fun idea.

What's most telling is that it's not marked as anything except single-player and multi-player on Steam's category listings on its Steam Store page. http://store.steampowered.com/app/261550/Mount__Blade_II_Bannerlord/
Right-hand column, above the languages & rating. These are the actual category tags that are representative of a game's features as determined by the devs, and if you search the Co-op category on Steam then you won't find Bannerlord. All of the tags listed above those are--as noted on the page--user-defined.

Here you go: http://store.steampowered.com/search/
Here's a search for Mount & Blade, sorted by relevance: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=Mount%20%26%20Blade
Here's that search filtered by the co-op category: http://store.steampowered.com/search/?term=Mount%20%26%20Blade&category3=9

Unfortunately, there isn't really a definitive answer for that just yet. Our main concern is to make the game enjoyable and fun to play for everyone involved, and so for that reason, we haven't made any final decisions on coop just yet.

Well it's starting to be late to decide on core features like this one. Considering all the gameplay overhaul there would need to be for an enjoyable coop, the whole singleplayer would have to be scratched in order to make coop work properly. Does that mean we have several years of dev left ahead ?

That's rather far-fetched. Why would it have to be scrapped for the sake of coop, eve at this late stage? If the coop discussion thread is any indication, many people don't give a single **** how it's done or how restrictive it may be, as long as they can hit AI with sticks alongside their friends in the campaign then they'll be grateful. It's not like balance is a huge concern for a truly cooperative open-ended game with scaling, either. What's the AI going to do, whine about players feinting too much? :iamamoron:

Besides, if TW follows their previous pattern of development & testing before release, it's quite possible that some basic coop could make it in at or near a retail release. Mount & Blade was essentially in early access for years, though it wasn't called early access at the time. Warband was in private & public testing for about 7 months, which makes sense as they were a larger & more mature studio by that time. I'd say that it's likely Bannerlord will be in private/public testing anywhere from 2 to 6 months, and if it's closer to the latter then depending on when that testing period starts it would be possible for them to complete a simple implementation like a single-party system that is of respectable quality.

Or, if they're feeling more ambitious, they could wait until after the release of the base game to put out an expansion that includes coop. This was the case with Warband & multiplayer, if you recall, and it would give them all possible options for how to implement it.

Glad to know. Atleast there's still a possibility, cheers!

Co-op isn't a core feature. It wouldn't be too hard to implement, and no, singeplayer wouldn't have to be touched at all, no need to worry.

What changes exactly?

I'll help you, scrap it and make it a DLC feature.

I am not opposed to that. I'd rather wait and have a fleshed out & complete experience rather than something quick & bare-bones. Plus, it would shut up the folks saying they don't want it because it detracts from other features. :iamamoron:
