Hello Taleworlds team,

Since almost two weeks it is totally impossible for me to write a new message ou edit an old one without been rejected by Clouddflare, always with the same screen : "Sorry, you have been blocked... Email the site owner to let them know you are blocked". Which I did with a message to Support, but I never had any answer. That's the reason why I try through the present forum.

I use Firefox but when using a brand new microsoft Edge never used the result is the same. I've tested my PC with Avast, ZHPCleaner and malwabytes, nothing harmful is detected on my PC. I've tried on my laptop that I use much less often than my desktop with Firefox and Edge, same result.

So, what can I do now ? My connection is standard and pass through a classical Phone+TV+Internet box (SFR in France).

There is only one way for me to post a message : write the message, copy all its content, leave the forum page, come back, recreate a new message ou reedit it, do CTRL+V to paste and Submit very fast, only this way the Submit is accepted. This is quite funny : if you use Cloudflare to protect your site against online attacks, the only way to have a message accepted is to send it very fast, which is exactly what a massive attack does !

And finally, do you really protect your site with Cloudflare, or not ? Or am I invaded by a malware that no dedicated tool is able to detect ? But I have to say that your forum is the only place where I have this kind of issue.

Edit :  Strange ! The present message passed without any Cloudflare problem. Usually I post into the French forum, more precisely here : https://forums.taleworlds.com/index.php/board,134.0.html
Is there a special issue with the French forum ?

Well, I can't give you any real answers to your problem but until Janus is able to post I can clarify a couple things for you.

The forum does use Cloudflare for protection, and it is not unique to the French sub-forum. I have also had this issue in the past where a frequently changing IP resulting in constant Cloudflare checks that made posting nearly impossible. Thankfully, it was eventually resolved for me anyway.

If you get an error message like that, it should give you a CloudFlare Ray ID on the page. If you see it again, contact us at f[email protected] with that Ray ID and I'll look into it.

There are a variety of things that could potentially trigger it, it monitors for several different kinds of suspicious activity. False detections don't happen very often, but they do happen.
One thing that triggers it more often than most would be certain snippets of SQL code being posted, or other code for web technologies.

EDIT:

That's different from his issue; you're talking about the occasional browser check, he's receiving a "blocked" message.

Well... That's very strange. I've just edited a message on my usual French forum and it was accepted at first trial !

I thought that maybe it was because I installed uBlock Origin into Firefox (I try what I can...), but I just checked on my laptop where uBlock is not installed and the creation of a new message was accepted too.

OK... We'll see if this good behaviour continue in the next days. You find my old mail with a Cloudflare ID and did something ?

Or is it just because I successfully posted here ? Since then, no more Cloudflare blocking.

The devs handle support through the main site, if that's what you used. They may have gone ahead and done something to take care of it in the Cloudflare panel, I don't know offhand. I also have access to it and handle most CloudFlare stuff related to the forum, since I'm also the server admin for the forum server. But, there is of course some overlap.

Hopefully whatever it was finding suspicious is indeed cleared up. It probably is.
