Are the cloaks really worth it?  They use up the head slot, so basically, I'm asking, is losing a 40+ armor helmet worth gaining +3 to head and body?

Not really but they look cool :) It was suggested before to change cloak slot to gloves since they give body protection mainly (at least those without hoods). There is also hidden food slot... I wonder if it could be used for cloaks...
 
Either of those ideas would be very cool, especially if the Food slot can serve for this. I remember there were plans to up-armor the cloaks for the Villianese and Boundless Ones; did that ever get done? All of the store cloaks have the old stats, and my poor Ymira is too weak and pretty for a big clunky helmet except on a bad hair day.

(I'd headshot one of my troops to check this value, but I'm playing the Marinians.) :twisted:

Villianese and Boundless use enhanced non buyable versions of cloaks. Their head protection is very good now. Esspecially boundless ones and knights have nothing to worry about.

In previous version you had to put a food item in a seperate food slot to feed your army, that's been pretty much removed and the slot has been de-activated, but it's easy to reactivate. You could re-activate it (but I'm not sure if it then works as it used to) by opening any mod's module.ini file, found in the module's folder. Look for "food" there, and you should find
#change this to 0 if you want to keep the food slot in inventory window.
disable_food_slot      = 1
there. Should be obvious what to do. :wink:

Save it and play your game. (I'm not entirely sure if it's savegame compatible, but I'm willing to be it is. Making back-ups won't hurt, though.)
 
Nords ruled by King Ragnar, Khergits ruled by Sanjar Khan, Rhodoks ruled by King Graveth, Swadians ruled by King Harlaus, Vaegirs ruled by King Yaroglek. All those peoples live, fight, and die in the continent of Calradia. They're not hard to spell, people. Read!
The Nords and Rhodoks field solely infantry and archers, the Swadians and Vaegirs have infantry, archers and cavalry and the Khergit field almost exclusively cavalry. No such things as "infarty" or "calvary" exist. Sigspace is now full.
Nerds infarty is the best and Schwabians have the best calvary though Riddicks have best crisbowmens.
 
I started the thread and my question was answered.  I don't mind a little good-natured nonsense.  Of course, I'm not running the board and understand more clutter is more work.  8-)

If you destroy the Vegan's bean plantations they eventually die due to a lack of protein. That is how I took over the Vegan empire...
 
not to be rude, but can we keep this thread about cloaks, and not about swabians, vegans and the crishbowmen of riddick?
(even though it is quite fun to make fun of ppl who cant remember the correct names' spelling)

about cloaks: I think that cloaks should give a bit more body armor(same as gloves) , and be at the gloves slot. that would be cool :mrgreen:

I already made them 20 head armor 5 body armor for incoming V4.5. Head protection is small but the extra body armor may be worth it so now I hope them to be viable choice.

P.S.
And anyone can do the same with item editor for the time being, saves would be save game compatibile. Just under no circumstances touch cloaks that already have high head protection because they are special non buyable versions that are used by villianese and boundless troops!

then I guess I'll be running with a cloak when v4.5 is released.
They look insanely awesome, so its worth the chance of being one hit-killed by a throwing axe in the head. :mrgreen:
 
I am really enjoying this thread.  I also love it how people misspell everything on the forums, although I do give some understanding to the fact that everyone is trying to speak/write English, regardless of their abilities.  All I think when I see a N. American or Brit writing bad English is "The apple doesn't fall far from the horse."
