Claimant quest / siege bug

Maybe finding this bug is just my fault for trying to be cute. In any regard, it's a major oversight.

When I was running through the game for the third time I finally decided to run with a claimant quest. So after I picked up Isolla the Rhodoks and Nords declared war on me, so I decided to take them both out first since I was having too much fun with the option to train troops and give them away to other lords. As a result, there were a number of lords I never had the chance to try and persuade to join me, particularly Lord Plais.

So by the time I dealt out all of Rhodok and Nord territory to my favorite lords there was little left of old Swadia since everyone had declared war on them. I took Praven for myself and then all that remained was Uxkhal and Tevarin Castle, the latter of which the Khergits were busy besieging. So rather than deal with another siege with a dozen lords against me at the high end of the ladders I decided to finally talk to Plais since he was home at Uxkhal at the time. I convinced him and a handful of other lords there to join me, and Uxkhal was cleanly ours.

So I thought. After that, things got weird.

When I left the town I saw that four enemy lords were just chilling inside the town. When I went go into the castle, they're lined up neatly, and any dialogue with them is identical to that of requesting a meeting with an enemy lord at his castle. Since I'm accustomed to the type of quirks this game dishes out at this point I started a separate save file in case it screwed up completely. And apparently, it did.

So I left to do some trading and a day or so later I noticed that the Uxkhal was under siege. The 62 enemy troops resting in the town were besieging it. Meanwhile, the Khergits finished off Tevarin, so those lords had nowhere else to go. So I decided to wait and see what happens.

And 100 days later, Uxkhal is out of food. First time in my history of playing the game that ever happened. Days afterward, Uxkhal is still out of food, and those troops are still sitting in there, besieging it.

And yeah, that's about where it stands. So either the programmers never anticipated this exact scenario, or it was never expected that a town could actually stay under siege for a hundred straight days.

Just to put this out there, I am running a small mod, but it's just a few additional troops and some new items I threw together. Nothing fancy that affects the way the game behaves.

Any clue how I can continue without reverting to my save from a hundred days ago?
