As i see the game, i imagine that finale version will include all citys in 3D like the start city.

I am asking myself if a 2D "Heros of might and magic"-like interface wouldnt be just great. Stops at citys would become less long, and i dont think walking from house to house has something to do with immersion or smthing.

A nice 2d clickable drawing could do it. No?

I like the city menu as it is and I think it should be added to Zendar aswell. But a map-like view might be a good replacement. Although I also think you should be able to walk around the cities in 3d like you can in Zendar.Enter a city in 3d (as in Zendar), but when you press tab you get the city menu (or city map) for quick movement.

I want the option to follow the bandits into town. Rub elbows in the tavern. Brawl? Bar fight!

Hehe... That could be fun. You could even get a 'quest' from the barkeep to rid the place of noisy, foulsmelling, obnoxious pirates and bandits. You are after all fully equiped.

Btw, I expect the tavers to have a few people lingering around now and then, perhaps having a mission for you.

M&B could use some more in-town missions. Not even necessarily missions, but interaction: some drunken npc just might try to pick a fight with you when you enter tavern.

Yes, a dark robed shady character in the corner of tavern, offering you a quest involving a wizard, tower and talisman. Go fetch, Fido!

I am not sure how much time it would take,

but maybe it's possible to have some quick keys to access different
parts of the town(Merchant, Smithy, Castle, etC)
while maintaining 3D view in "big" towns/cities?

Did you play a game called Wizards and Warriors? (if you dont stop reading this and find the game). M&B and W&W have similar gaming goals and systems, and thats why i think devs should take a look at the city interface of this game (actualy im sure they already have).

It has very charming horizontal-scrolling 3d animated citys with nice and detailed 2d backgrouds, i think this would be the perfect interface for M&Blade citys.

Now that you mention it, yes, I played that game and I really liked the city interface. I second your thought of suggesting this kind of city interaction.

Yeah, I could go with that. And maybe a few street urchins who try to pick your pockets. You can't kill them but you have to beat them off with a blunt weapon

Speaking of which, I think fists should be a weapon as well...

As to the town interface, I agree it could use some work. You can walk around town or just hit a shortcut and go to the place you want. And if you go the shortcut method, you arrive right in front of the storekeeper, not at the door. I find it a bit annoying that right now if you sleep in the tavern you wake up at the door, or even in the street.

And there shouldn't just be a "smithy" with two guys in it, there should be a smithy for weapons and an armourer for armour. Maybe even a tailor for non-metal types of armour. A stable for horses. A butcher for meat. More shops to add a bit more life and variety to the towns.
