Thing is, you can't buy narcotic substances of an illicit nature in pharmacies, whereas you can buy guns in a gun shop.

If you were to compare crime in the US and crime in the UK, even by the size of the population, we get nearly every teenage murder as national headlines. By removing lethal weapons, you remove the ability to kill with such ease, meaning that your average chav just won't have the ability to murder.
