Choppy Gameplay Question

Hey there. I've been playing Mount and Blade for years, but I just now started playing Native Expansion, and I'm hooked. Things were going well until I joined the Vaegirs and joined with Yaroglek to fight Graveth. The frame rate was so choppy that the battle was unplayable. I don't have a very powerful PC, but I never had much of a problem with large battles in Native.  I turned off the majority of the graphical effects and turned the battle size down to 55, but the problem persists. Is there something about Native Expansion that makes it more technically demanding?

Quick disclaimer: I tried the search function and I couldn't find anyone with the same problem in NE.

I have 448 RAM 2.5GHz 64Mega Video Card
and i run with all in minimun
but i have fun =D
with LIKE no lag...

I have a better rig then you, by far, and I still get lag during mountain battles or forest battles. (I suspect its because the AI path finding at the higher Z axis points becomes screwey and resource consuming, while path finding through the forest does about the same but with less harsh an effect)

Does this "choppy" frame rate happen when fighting in hill and mountain territory only?

If so...
There is a problem with choppy graphics in fights in the NE mod, that occurs when fighting on terrian of hills and mountains, where the elevation levels have sharp relief (rapid changing high to low elevation levels)... and it appears to effect all players PCs.

I think that there is another posting for this but I get it as well.  I have noticed that for me it is only during the fights and when any new troops join the battle.  I have a 2ghz (single core), 2 gig ram, 256 Nvidia GeForce Go 7800 GTX.  Other then that I run my game at decent settings with a resolution of 1280x800.

Not sure what it can be, my computer is pretty good for it tho.

I dont think its a mod problem, I can handle 800 man battle with battle siezer, i Have quad 6300q, geforce 7600, 4gb ram DD2-800 Kingstom. The only lag I have is on spawning the troops, for like 3 secs, after that is all clear.

Is it possible to make the terrain more "smoother" so the things arent that bad (if it helps at all) and i personally find it quite annoying fighting in alien type of hills like there is no gravity in caladria.
