Hi !
I've seen many people having a problem , that goes like this :
"God damnit ! I again respawned in that type of uniform , it's the worst one , how to choose a uniform in game >
!?"
Here's the tutorial how to choose it, WARNING : It's really complicated !
1.
First of all , you need to download these 2 programs:

You have them ?
Ok!
Now open the openbrf (That i told you to download) program for the first time.
Click File>Open , and then redirect it to directory where North And South is installed , and when you are going to be in N&S file , there will be a file called "Resorce" open it and you will see big amout of files . the directory to this file goes like that :
\Steam\steamapps\common\mountblade warband\Modules\North And South v0.3\Resource
3.
Now the thing that you will have to know , if you want to have 1 type of uniform :
mmaustrianuniforms.brf - in this file , you will find union soldier uniforms
mmaustrianhats.brf - in this file you will find union soldier hats
mmbrituniforms.brf - in this file you will confederate soldier uniforms
mmbrithats.brf - in this file you will find confederate soldier hats
mm_russian_hats.brf - in this file you will find confederate soldier hats (Part 2)
mm_french_uniforms.brf - in this file you will find confederate/union soldier uniforms
mmprusuniforms.brf - in this file you will find confederate/union soldier uniforms (Part 2)

Ok let's say you want to have 1 type of hat in alabama militia the white one , and make that the grey one will never be on your head again !
First of all
go to the
mmbrithats.brf
and search for the grey hat , you found it ?
good , now write down it's "work" name on the paper , or whatever you like to
( this hat will be called 33_stovepipe . )
5.
Repeat all point from 2. to 4. because i just know you failed them , but calm down , drink some green tea , and try againg . It's really complicated i know , it took me like whole week to figure it out !

Now open the morg's program , not the openbrf , the other one i gave a link to.
Now click "Browse" in the module directory , and find the direction of N&S mod , it will be like that :
Steam\steamapps\common\mountblade warband\Modules\North And South v0.3
You got it ? Ok !
Now click the "Troop editor" button
You will see really complicated list and menu after clicking the button , but dont worry , it's not that hard.

You got the complicated list and menu ? Ok !
Now look on the units on the list , remember what we choosed to use 1 type of uniform before ? We choosed a alabama
milita , so you will search for:
trp_british_infantry (4th_Alabama_Infantry)
Remember to dont choose :
trp_british_infantry_ai (4th_Alabama_Infantry)
This one is the bots uniforms , but it doesnt work anyway , just dont pick the unit that have "ai" in the name !
(The name used in game is always in "(" so it's not a problem to search a unit type if you will got in to it !)
Ok , now click the "trp_british_infantry (4th_Alabama_Infantry)" name ,it will glow on blue
Now you will see a white box in the upper right corner of the program , just under the "Save Changes" button
There will be a list of items , that this unit use , now look at your paper with writed model of the cap you DONT want to use
and when you will check it , go back to the box , and delet this item on the list (Just left click it , and then click "Delete item from inventory" button)

Repeat the points from 6 to 7 , because you screwed it up again , fail .
8.
You are almost done
Now just click "Update Troop" button , there will be a box with some numbers , but close it , and then click "Save Changes" Button
Well , you are done , the program will automaticly ask you if you want to make a copy of old file , where you could get the ****ty type of uniform , i recommend clickng yes , it will save the copy of that file (troops.txt) in the North & South Directory
9.
You are done !
Now you can play the game , without respawning as a alabama with the ****ty hat/uniform !
