Children.

If they don't go multi-gen setup, then frankly I'll feel like I wasted my money. The Dynasty concept that was pitched by someone,. don't know who now, was the whole reason I purchased the game. If it was just more of the same, I'd have just stayed with Warband. And as for if they go 3 gen's, yeah, after 2, nearly every NPC noble in every faction is dead, all that remains in 3rd gen are the children of your children, and of the handful of nobles who had children at the beginning of game. So, its basically extremely empty. Since they have implemented death, the whole map can become a ghost town(world). I've seen entire cities/towns with no NPC notables to speak to because they all died of old age or something and since I'm assuming they dont procreate, nothing and no one replaced them.

It's kinda like a post-apocalyptic simulator scenario where war and a sudden lack of male fertility contributed to the eradication of the human species.
Yep , havn't passed the amount of time that you have yet.(keep getting fed up and restarting because of snowballing).interesting to see where they go with it.

I always play as Sturgia or Battania. When I play as Battania, I usually immediately start **** with Vlandia or try and instigate it. Vlandian Banner Knights are my favorite mounted unit even if they aren't the strongest, but I love Battanian bows, so I make a mix of both. For whatever reason, I just don't like to play as anyone but those two and I have never made my own faction/empire before. I like Sturgia...though I don't really know why. Just do. I usually immediately move to try and instigate conflicts with Khuzait because they almost always take Tyal and the castles around it within the first few years and start moving to Sibir and that other central Sturgian city whose name completely escapes me now. As Battanian I normally let it happen. Though if I had to pick a favorite, I'd have to say I prefer Battanian playthroughs. I like smaller condensed areas to defend, and just generally love the Battanian look and theme. Reminds me of the Ancient Britons around the time Saxons were invading Britannia after Rome had just recently left via late 4th Century-early 5th. I use the Empire as Rome, Vlandia as the Saxons, and Battania as the Britons.

They suddenly appeared. They popped up in Revyl for my Sturgian game....but the thing is I've been through that city over and over and for days now and they were never there. Now they suddenly are. What gives?
To kinda address just this thing, when a npc is first spawned or re-spawned or re-set, as when they've been released from jail /defeated, marry you, they first go into a dormant state where the encyclopedia says the're holding at a location for about 2 days. Although it says they're there, they aren't really. After that they supposed to 'spawn for reals this time' in a keep where they can be interacted with and begin to do there thing if they're an active lord. However sometimes this just doesn't work right and the "invisible holding phase" goes on much longer and they may eve re-spawn at a different location. They've made some little fixes to this for spouse and companions but it still isn't good. Further more I've found lord that has escaped jail but weren't listed in the encyclopedia yet by guessing which of their fief they would spawn in and looking in the keep, so the encyclopedia doesn't line up with that either.....

Anyways this is just based on my experiences, I don't look at the code like a smart guy would. It sucks I hope it gets fixed, but I could say that all day

Don't forget you need to enter a settlement to update the encycolpedia. It may be outdated info when you are looking at it.

Not sure about player kids but I do know that Noble children do get appropriate stats when they hit 18 now and they will begin running around leading parties if the clan they are in lacks enough nobles for their tier. It is working very well in my newly play through in 1.5.1 and the new AI decisions about war and peace make a MONUMENTAL difference in how the game plays out. I think they are getting there slowly but surely.

Hopefully they will be able to start working on the politicking and such soon. The game is running much better FPS then it did in 1.3 especially in large battles (the days of too many voice channels killing the game are long gone), campaigns flow much better then in 1.3 thanks to much smarter peace and war declarations, upgrading troops is much smoother and more fun then 1.3, lords die and are replaced correctly now unlike in 1.3, the reworked perks that they have finished are much better then they ones they replaced and combine governor/captain/personal/party leader effects nicely. Hopefully they add feasts and wedding and hopefully those events are better then in warband because honestly both of those were very bare bones in vanilla Warband. Weddings especially were lame imho.

My big things are add: feasts, weddings, NPC & NPC weddings that happen with or without your intervention, also being able to politically marry off children, or siblings if you are playing second-gen child character after first gen player died and have a bunch of siblings to spare, and get rid of cav bonuses for Khuzait or nerf them. Seeing as they are cav majority faction anyway, I don't see how removing the cav bonus would even hurt them anyway. If anything, it would even the playing field for them and the other factions. I have to play Sturgia to keep them from steamrolling the entire eastern side of the map. Luckily Sturgia and Battania are my fav factions and are all I usually play though I've played Vlandia once, so its not too much of an issue. These things alone to me would make the game infinitely more enjoyable and I could care less about any other perceived problems. They ARE NOT complicated because simple mods have addressed them previously, (with the exception of feasts, I haven't seen that in any mod). As far as Multiplayer, I don't give two ****s about it since my few games were spent being called noob since it was my first time and I didn't match up well with experienced players, so as for multiplayers, **** you guys.

They are useless. Though, the negative stats were fixed, they are still totally useless until they implement that system with children training they are working on. In the next patch we'll probably get a new pig texture, so expect the system to be implemented in 2025.
