Children.

I don't understand the purpose of them anymore. I have 13 of them. (Yeah I know what the hell right?) 3 of them are 18 or older...but I can't do anything with them. They are all level 27 or higher, but with no stats, and no way for me to add any stats or focus points. They just sit in my clan list or whatever, but I can't find them ANYWHERE on the map. I can't add them to party to train them to fight. I can't do anything. Literally the only reason I know they exist is because they show up in my clan family list. That's the only reason I can see them at all. What is the point of them if you have to wait until MC dies for them to be of any use? And even then, I can only use ONE of them. What about the others? I don't understand this system at all. It's pointless as it is.

Youbshould be able to find them and take them into your party when they hit 18. It works for the siblings in 1.5.1.

I can't. I go to where it says they are, they aren't there. I can't find them. And how are they level 27, which is what level I was when they came of age, but they have no stats and I can't add any?

I don't know, it sounds like either an earlier playthrough issue or a mod conflict somewhere. I know the children's stats were "fixed" a few patches back.

They suddenly appeared. They popped up in Revyl for my Sturgian game....but the thing is I've been through that city over and over and for days now and they were never there. Now they suddenly are. What gives? Also, says they are level 23 but again no stats. The weird thing is, it says I'll have X amount of whatever points to use when they reach the next level. Why do I need to level them up once before unlocking the points for stats they should already have in the first place? And what about focus points? It says absolutely nothing at all about them.

I started this particular game around 3-4 months ago but it's been updated to latest version. I started it with the Separatism mod which was awesome at the time, but is now outdated and wont work on newer matches. So yeah, older game but updated to current patch. The mod is started on doesn't work anymore and I don't have it activated.

Children having no stats has been an issue in both 1.5 versions. I'm sure they had stats in 1.4.2. After a fresh reinstall and new game all children under the age of 18 have no stats and most have no traits.
Not just children though. Minor faction clan members have no skills or traits. Some lords/ladies and companions have no traits either, although they have skills.
Seems like the game isn't assigning traits to everyone for some reason. Since the game uses hidden traits to determine npc stats it results in no skills too.

okay thats your problems then, playing old saves on new patches can "screw up" alot whole range of things, they had some big updates for children coming into the game and changed some base things about them, so your save basically has new modifiers put over outdated info. Also turing off a mod mid save screws up a bunch of things, as the save has information stored that takes the mod/mods info into account, that are no longer being applied to your save, giving even more wrong values (depending on the type of mod you used ofcourse) The issue you are having, is to tell it short, not a Taleworlds issue, but an issue of you not staying in the patch version you made your save in, thereby breaking all sorts of things in your save.

So someone reccomended me to get the heritage mod to fix the issues with children and political marriages. I found it on nexus mods, but I don't know how to install it. It comes in a github file...and I'm extremely untech0-y so what am I suppose to do with it? Also its for 1.4.3 so will it still work for 1.5.1?

I hate nexus my self, i stay away from it. im pretty sure if its for 1.4.3 it wont work for 1.5.1, but it depends if it touches places devs changed.

I had to appoint my children as governors in order to get them in my party.
I was just going to post that very thing. but in 1.4.2 my son came to me with his fathers stats. awesome but now in 1.5.1 they have No stats.

I had them come with no stats, but about 10 points and 15 focal points.

But when I died, I couldn't choose my kids as heirs, so I had to be usurped by my brother. He had one kid, but when he died the game just ended.

Of course, this was a previous version save game and I was using RealisticBattlemod.

I should also mention I let the game run once I conquered the map, and before I died there were only 3 or 4 nobles still alive; all in their 50s. But I had been using death mod earlier.

Just go to the "files" page on the Nexus site, and do a manual download. Then put its contents into the Modules folder of your Bannerlord location. Never use Vortex, their download manager. It usually doesn't properly install or sort anything. It's much simpler to just put the mod into the Modules folder, and click or unclick if you want to use it in the launcher.

Heritage works on any non-beta version, so the 1.4.3 version works on 1.5.0, maybe 1.5.1 now. But it can be buggy.

It works, but occasionally freezes the whole game when a marriage between one of my children and pretty much anyone takes place. Not all the time, but often enough to discourage me from using it. This is under 1.5.1, I haven't tried any other version and I don't want to downgrade to a previous patch since it involves me more or less waiting almost an hour for it to install that patch.

I see I'm going to just have to go back to EU4 until this game...fixes itself. It has no worth after the first generation gets old and dies out. And there are no activities beyond warfare to get involved in. I only played Warband for a month and already I think it was far superior. It was less "shiny" graphic wise, but that was the ONLY inferior part of it compared to Bannerlord 2. I found the ": Feasts" between the lords extremely genius and loved the hell out of that otherwise simple political mechanic. Bannerlord 2 lacks anything like this and I've never been all that impressed by graphics anyway. Destiny and Destiny 2 on PS4 looked pretty, and was an utter ****show of a game.

Anyway, I have extremely high hopes for this game. My month with Warband was spent with me being up nearly every night until 3-4 AM playing it, practically addicted, and still having to get up at 9 AM every morning for my day to start, but not upset because the game felt worth all that trouble to me. I had "rented it" from that PS4 thing...I forget what its called but its basically Playstations version of Xbox Game Pass. So I'm very hopeful for this one, and I even believe they'll get it together eventually. At the slow pace they are going, I don't believe they aren't reading our suggestions and wishes and not taking some or most of it into account. It would be criminal of them not too. And I think TaleWorlds are brilliant people for creating a game like this so I have faith in them.

But as of now, I'm just not enjoying the game. It has no long-term playability. It's fine for a few hours in a save, and unless you start another save, the game is effectively dead no matter the fact you can keep going. So anyway, still waiting for the inevitable miracles I believe they'll pull off.

Personally I think the devs themselves dont know what to do with children , hoooge job if they plan legacy for all.

I don't particularly see whats so complicated about it. Political marriages between NPC's and between your children and NPC's has already been done in a mod. So it can't be that difficult!! It keeps the game going with multi-generations so that all the NPC's from the various factions don't inevitably die out in the third generation of every save. I also would like to see years sped up some. Since I think the last estimate was, 84 days or so one year, I'd like to see it shortened by a third, or at least a quarter, but thats my own opinion as a heavy EU4 player, and I'm fairly sure I'm an extreme minority in wanting a shorter year. But I don't see why they can't add the same system like the Heritage mod, but official, seeing as it didn't take long for the mod to be constructed....

Aye , heritage mod is good, devs indecision I reckon..big call .Once they start down a path it may be difficult to redress. Do they go 3 generations? 4? One? As to shortening years that would favour a multi gen set up..if the devs wanna go that way.

If they don't go multi-gen setup, then frankly I'll feel like I wasted my money. The Dynasty concept that was pitched by someone,. don't know who now, was the whole reason I purchased the game. If it was just more of the same, I'd have just stayed with Warband. And as for if they go 3 gen's, yeah, after 2, nearly every NPC noble in every faction is dead, all that remains in 3rd gen are the children of your children, and of the handful of nobles who had children at the beginning of game. So, its basically extremely empty. Since they have implemented death, the whole map can become a ghost town(world). I've seen entire cities/towns with no NPC notables to speak to because they all died of old age or something and since I'm assuming they dont procreate, nothing and no one replaced them.

It's kinda like a post-apocalyptic simulator scenario where war and a sudden lack of male fertility contributed to the eradication of the human species.
