Chewing

Sergeant Knight
So I went out to dinner with a couple friends tonight, and something that bothers me quite frequently again came up tonight. Namely, people chewing with their mouths open. I never open my mouth when chewing, except when first inserting the food into my mouth, and the noises, the smacking of gums was making me rage. I don't want to hear that ****. It seriously annoys the hell out of me, and it doesn't seem to bother anyone else.

Does anyone else rage about this? Or anyone else have similar food-related peeves?

It annoys me when it's excessively loud, or it's the only sound in the room, but otherwise no. I typically look at people's eyes when I speak to them, or in that area, so I rarely gaze at them actually chewing.

I don't feel right judging either as sometimes I have difficulty chewing with my mouth closed, so I have to open it. I try to cover it, but sometimes I just can't.

People who chew loud or with their mouths wide open tend to put me off my own food.

Yeah it's ****ing annoying, in fact so annyoing that every time I hear someone do that I start carving the table with either the fork or the knife.
I lived for two months (summer) in an apartment with four people of which one ate his mouth open, all the time.

The only people I know who chew with their mouths open are mentally incapable.

Sheep might be dumb but they are not mentally incapable. I am not bothered by this so much. I live in a country currently where everyone slurps like crazy when they eat frigging noodles. Sometimes they slurp when eating rice also.

People who speak with food in their mouths is also ****ing rage inducing. And people who chew too loud get me on my nerves, too. Don't know why, though.  :???:

So they slurp in every meal?

Same. I sit there wishing they'd either shut up or miss their mouths and stab themselves in their eyes hard enough that it kills them.

It's one of those little annoyances that you just get. I'm fine with chewing, but my mother's snoring makes me rage instantly, especially if it when she's fallen asleep during a movie.

Not all, but some do. It's stupid and even with noodles there really is no need to slurp the **** down your throat. I can do it without making a noise why can't the other 128 million people living here do it also?

My dad did that during the The Attack of the Clones, nobody in the theatre seemed to mind, I guess they thought the film was as ****ty as I did at that point.

"Don't speak with your mouth full."
Words drummed into me as a child by my parents, both verbally and physically.

But, seriously, who chews? Wolf it down so you can get as much food into you as possible.
(You can tell I came from a family with a large amount of siblings.)

So you have no asthmatic friends ? Good for you. I have one and so he eats with his mouth open the whole time. Pisses me off, but I cope.

People who don't have breathing problems and eat with their mouths open deserve having their gob sewn shut, seriously.

Oh, and people who chew gum with their mouth open too .... RRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAEEEEEEEEEEGGGGGGGG !

Why didn't you tell the people you were eating with that it's rude to chew with your mouth open? I wouldn't have been able to sit there without saying anything... ****ing animals.

That's not very polite at all. If somebody has bad body odour you don't say "**** you stink man !" you quietly rage and buy them deodorant for Christmas.
