charging horses

Is it just me or the horses just stop when they charge infantry or cavalry. I think that cavalry should not be stopped when it gets to hit on cavalry or infantry. I think that infantry should get to kill the horse when hit in the head, or knock it down when hit at the legs. The horse also who gets charged by another horse should be able to get knocked down, maybe not killed but at least stunned. I think that infantry is at a total disandvantage against kavalry, and should not when if they are equiped with long pikes.

What do you guys think, Opinions.

i have read and i have made a topic on horses myself, but i have never gotten across this topic, and if anyone else has done so, i hope they don't feel robbed that i have reminded people of the problem, and given a little solution.

I would rather not be stopped by people/trees/rocks/marnid. I'd rather go right through them. Especially marnid. I'll smash that *()#@! down for shooting me in the back of my head >: (.

It depends on what kind of horse you have, and how fst it is running. if you are fast, you knock the ennemy over, if not, your horse gets starteled or simply stopped. it's quite realistic really

a charging horse should not stop on its track because there are two infantry units that are charging it. I am on a charger and the bastard stops when it hits them, and goes on his two hinder legs, leaving me to the mercy of those infantrymen.

First of all, horses when they are charging, if they see an obstacle, they jump over it, or they change direction. I know that because i own horses, mules. I have noticed that when you charge the other horse, your horse just stops, and the other rider gets a clean shot of you with his melee weapon. Not realistic. Watch "THE LAST SAMURAI" When a horse charges another horse, whichever horse hits the other one perpendiculari to its side, wins, like a car crash. A horse is not that stupid as to hit a tree or a boulder dead in its center, even though the rider does not see it. AND THAT GOES FOR MOST Horses except the blind ones.

I hear ya and agree fully. It just seems that the game isnt completely finished in these parts. It would require more specific stuff to make it real, because theres no physics when colliding infantry, either they get knocked down completely or stand like a brick, the horses charge factor and speed decides over this. If we would allow horses to walk through infantry at this state of the game the infantry wouldnt slow down the horse at all. Collisions with another horse require some maths i think, mass and speed calculations along with point of charge connecting along with all kinds of complicated center of gravitys etc

Mules aren't quite horses, so they behave differently, and warhorses are trained to hit and trample things. I would like proper collision physics because it would add more realism and it would be fun trampling river pirates on my speeding spirited sumpter horse.

The biggest qualm I have is when a horse runs into you (and rears on its hind legs rather than doing any harm), and then the guy proceeds to trot right through you. Also, sometimes when I get stopped, I can't attack until I let go of the forward button, which usually gets a good hit or two on me.

mules my man may not be as fast as horses but they are stronger. Believe me as i know this from experience, mules are more prone to trample you than a horse, unless the horse is trained to do it. mules are vicious naturally, horses you have to train.

Also i believe that pikes should be able to kill the horse if it hits it between the front legs. I think that the movie the patriot or Braveheart are a perfect example. If you hit the horse in the face with whatever weapon you have, it should die.

If you hit the enemy in the face with whatever weapon you have it should die.
Total realism does not belong in games. For an example of why it sucks, play mp halo against anyone with a sniper rife and a high place.
