Changing things for mods.

Hello. I've been playing the 1257 Edition Mod and it is a very fun experience added to Mount and Blade. But the thing that would make it better for me is if the factions had colors. Now I know how to do this but whenever I attempt to change it (or anything that is a text document using notepad) I always get an error saying it cannot create the change or something and check if the path and file name are correct (I don't know how to implement pictures, I am fairly new to the forums so if someone could tell me that I could get the exact error). So if anyone could help that'd be great.

I had that problem too.

What you need to do is download Notepad++, then instead of just opening the .txt file, right click and select "Edit with Notepad++".

Edit to your heart's content.

Ok I'll try that/ thanks. And where can I download Notepad++?

Alright I did that. Now when I try to save the changes it says that I should check if it opened in another program and doesn't work.
