How does he work?

I tried sending a "gift" to a lord and he said it would cost me 50 scillings to send. So i go tot he next stage and i suddenly need to send 150 units of ale wine or oil?

So before i go and spend thousands of silver on ale etc what is the pay off witht he lord? is it a simple +5 to likeness? if so i am not gonna waste the money, if its a 15+ likeness then im all for it..

also, how do you improve your relationship with the lords in your realm? every time i ask if they have tasks i am suddenly to high up to do anything.

I just want everyone to like me!

By "150 units" only three actual 'ales' have to be purchased if I remember correctly as each unit contains fifty. That's very cheap, around a thousand coins or less depending upon where you buy it. The relationship boost is also worth it, I don't know how much it is specifically however. As for getting lords to like you do this, when a new fief has been acquired by your affiliated kingdom ask a lord who he believes should receive it, if you agree with his judgement you get a small boost. You'll get the opportunity to do that regularly, or just visit nobles after your victories as that gives you a +1 boost for nothing. The task to capture lords also gives you something like a +13 boost just for accepting it.

On one of my games I'm one hundred and thirty days in and have over twenty supposed friends, I don't believe I've done a single task. Besides campaigning with the Marshal of course.

Worked it out, works fine with 3 barrels of ale, i thought you needed 150 barrels... lol my bad.

btw for those of you interested, it sends out a carvan with 15 spearmen and can be raided to watch out if theres pirates etc nearby.

You get a +3 to any lord you send ship ments to

You're welcome, considering a Welsh town sells over twenty barrels sometimes you can exploit it rotten.

I am no longer able to send out gifts in 1.37, i can hardly even find ale or wine anywhere..

I am i the only one unable to send out gifts?
