I'm having a little trouble chamber blocking consistently in this game, i've been practicing for quite a while now but only managed to chamber block about 40% of the time and it doesn't take a genius to figure out that if i'm only countering 40% of my shots then i'm getting hit by 60% of them meaning it does me more harm than good, and not even all those counters hit the enemy.

Is there any specific timing to chamber blocking, the way i'm doing it at the moment is to chamber my weapon the instant i see them take a swing but like i said it doesn't always work.

I find it slightly easier to chamber block with the sword and shield because generally 1 handed weapons are faster plus I can use the shield to protect myself while i get myself prepared.
But even if i get in 2 chamber block counters the enemy only needs to get in 1 attack if theyre using a big weapon and Im done for whereas i find the 2 handers too slow to chamber block with.

Any advice is welcome, and if anyone would be willing to go the extra mile and train me in sparring sessions that would be excellent.

Don't try to rely on chamber blocking exclusively; it requires exact timing. Just remember that your weapon has to be near the end of the chamber animation but still in motion when the two weapons meet. The success window is somewhere around 70-99% of the animation, which means it's easy to be too early or too late. Against weapons of the same speed it works if chambering right after the opponent's swing begins. Various weapon speeds change up the timing, so you can't just rely on initiating a chamber right when you see an attack begin; you might end up in that 70-99% sweet spot too early OR too late to meet the incoming attack. In any case you can't expect to continuously chamber block swing after swing; regular blocking is also necessary because your timing won't always be perfect.

To perform an attack your weapon must first be chambered (ready to strike). At close to full chamber extension (~70-99% of the animation) your weapon will parry incoming attacks which meet it, allowing you to follow through with a riposte (counter attack).

I find chamber blocking near impossible to do without anything but sheer luck against advanced players. Against newbies it's a plausible technique because alot of them make it really obvious which direction they're going to attack in by chambering an attack for about 5 seconds before releasing it.
