Back in my prime I could shoot a galloping horseman in the head from across the map while jumping off a cliff. I can't comprehend how I became that good back then.I say that if you didn't use mounted bow in warband it was because you were too lazy to get gud at it ? ?. It was amazing but you had to really build it up and learn it. Also, the great big long big fat heavy stinky AXE was better then any lance.
Sure, go ahead. I don't have a reddit account. The reaction of the redditors may be a bit hostile though.Seriously put this on reddit. I want to see how they react there. I'll do it if you don't mind.
The best was m&b 1 non warband: you could couch even a pitchfork!I prefer the lance. Once you get good at it you surely can become a gattling gun on four legs with a bow, and a two handed axe is more versatile than a lance, but for me the ease at which you can pick off infantry with the lance (espacially in the beginning of the game) makes it king. Also I like roleplaying as a knight when im not playing as a nord.
In the case of the meme I picked it because lances in Bannerlord are extremly wonkey. To be honest all mounted combat is. Espacially against infantry. The worst thing is trying to hit infantry with a mace or axe from horsback. It feels like doing yoga whilst playing "whack a mole".
Agree with everything. And have to add about formation improvement. In the Viking Conquest, when our troops move in the "shieldswall" formation - they move face-to-face with the enemy - both advancing and retreating - that is, as it was in reality - in a tactical retreat, people back away, staying facing the enemy. In Bannerlord, if you order the infantry, which is in the "shieldwall" formation , to move a few steps back - we can see an awful picture - soldiers turn their backs to the enemy, that is, they do not know how to move backwards, they can only walk facing forward!-Collision and formations need improvement, you shouldn't be able to walk through a shield wall like nothing.
From a pure fundamental POV with no context, I too agree with this statement.Unpopular opinion: Bannerlord is better than Warband (vanilla vs vanilla)
What do you mean without context? I assume you have played both games to be able to compare them. So there is your context. From a pure fundamental POV with no context, I too agree with this statement.
Believe me when I say I am on the frontline in my disappointment for BL, and my viewpoint on this is in favor of WB, not BL.What do you mean without context? I assume you have played both games to be able to compare them. So there is your context.
But I am seriously curious; why do you think Bannerlord is better?
Do you think the points made in the meme are wrong or do you think the game is better despite these points and why?
A lot of people nagging on here about how BL is fine have never played Warband. Thats why your position interests me.
Alright I understand. I think I agree with you. Despite it's problems BL is far more accessible than WB because of it's graphics and presentation.Believe me when I say I am on the frontline in my disappointment for BL, and my viewpoint on this is in favor of WB, not BL.
I say BL is better than WB in the context of someone playing both games now in 2021. I think ignorant people who aren't aware of the potential BL built up can and will enjoy the game more than booting up WB. That's what I really meant when I say 'better', although it was worded poorly.
Let me be clear that I far enjoy WB over BL, and I see BL as a sidegrade to WB as opposed to an upgraded successor, which... well is really sad considering WB came out OVER 10y ago.

For me it is the other way round lol. I think it depends a bit what you play the game for. The combat or the roleplaying/strategy part. The later is better in WB, the former profits of the better graphics, sound and animations of BL. However I have to say whilst I can see the merit of some combat changes like for exemple the ability of horses to push infantry aside (friend or enemy) and multiple block directions for shields, the fact that it is this unbalanced and akward in parts makes it unplayable for me.As someone who didn't play a lot of Warband (100 hours) - even though i loved WB in the little time I played, I immediately dropped it when Bannerlord came out.
These days I tried to start up warband again, played like 5 min and had to stop - it just feels wayy too outdated now that I got used to BL.
