CEO Statement regarding the release

Duh_Talworlds himself said different:

"I don't think I denied anything, though, I am certainly someone that is happy to voice disagreement. The company is developer run, there are no business suits that pull the strings. Different people are responsible for different things, but everyone has some responsibility. I am not unhappy with what we have achieved during EA. Would I like to have achieved more? Sure."

Oh yikes, I had no idea this was actually said. There's absolutely no excuse for the state of Bannerlord, then.

Read between the lines of you want. I'm reading the lines.

He didn't have to say anything at all about who was in control of what features were to be cut, *but he did*, so I believe his statement.

They would have know before early access release what features they were going to be able to implement and which ones will need to be cut as they were working on the development for a long time prior. Only after the EA release did they start considerably cutting back on the scope. That's extremely disingenuous and scummy, regardless of who was calling the shots. And if I was the developer, I wouldn't have put my neck on the line to the forum users stating that it was the developer's choice to do so. I would have just kept quiet and let them blame the boogyman CEO.
dude, you clarly don't work on something that involves a community and grooming consumers, don't you?

of course he'd say that. who would say "i work for a tyrant"? hahhaa

I'm just saying it's pretty clear the Armagen is the one who call the shots and the one who shuts his devs off with new ideas for a better gameplay

If you don't know there are workplaces that if the CEO say jump he expect the employees to jump, not ask "how high"

He wouldn't have to say "I work for a tyrant"? If the devs are not in charge as he said they were, he could have easily just said that they work together under leadership or something. This seems more like you're ham-fisting what you think he's saying into words that say the complete opposite.

Leave him to it. Judging by his last response he is gonna die on that hill simping the developers.

I have zero interest in modding and I'm not sure why you're bringing that up.
I brought it up as most modders are ordinary players who started out when they were motivated to change something.
My statement is contextual and if you can't understand my point then I'll reiterate it. I'm trying to address issues with relying on modders to "fix" a game instead of the base game being good.
I have always understood your point. I merely consider it deluded to believe TW will address issues a couple of months prior to release, which they have shown little interest in during two years of EA. A lot of EA changes were about optimising the game for low spec pcs and consoles. I suspect EA was a shock to TW regarding how poorly the game performed on some of our potato pcs. Just look at all the crash reports. Personally, I'd have preferred a more complex game that required a higher minimum pc spec and was too advanced to run on consoles, but that was never going to fly commercially.

I agree with you on trading but at the start its the fastest way to buy a workshop . Once i got money rolling in i stop trading totally .The rest of your comments i feel the same way apart from criminal empire i am not that bothered but at least it would be another avenue . Bannerlord is a shell of a game very very basic. The game looks like they had more feature planned but just stopped.
what if I told you that you're wasting resources on workshops? What if I told you you have better more profitable options? What if I told you that you can make workshops useful with mods that add passive trading XP for owning one? What if I told you the game's designed for us to farm looters forever? xD
The most efficient game loops do not involve the core essence of the game, if you own troops you'll lose a lot on rewards + xp gain + income. The secret's exploiting underdog tactics, like solo farming desert bandits, wiping town gangs, raising up charm up to 300, sit on it until you go above 1k influence, than join a kingdom as a mercenary!? No money losses, and you'll earn 40k per daily tick on average until your influence declines to something around permanent 50, leave the kingdom and repeat until you are Banner Bezos (best part is you will be able to farm those pesky quests that you can't when being a vassal due to micro-management click-simulator annoyances). But be aware that they might patch this, it's so unorthodox that I think I'm the only idiot who found out about this loophole.

I agree absoultely that Taleworlds will never deal with issues that many people bring up. I just hate when people think that modders can or should save a game. That's ass backwards thinking modding should be there to enhance the game not to make it enjoyable.

Funny how after 2 years of EA, game still feels the same, I haven't seen any eye catching features. Just buggy and missing/broken features

Progressively worse imo and I'm not just saying that because I am mad. I absolutely hate the slow down when giving orders in battle, the new battle formation at the start of every f***ing battle and obviously the cutting of organising your troops by the Roman numerals thing.

I mean it all makes perfect sense now because it was all done to optimise it for the console and it's slower control systems.

Yes the game is more learning towards console players, basic mechanics and easy

Modders aren't interested in saving games. They won't waste their time on games that lack potential. Modding Bannerlord is frustrating but the game has enough potential and modding support for an active modding community. Modders aren't working for Taleworlds or players, they're chasing their own dreams.

Same with warband, modding was hard, but modders will find a way

He's right about it being rewarding. It sold very well. I mean if that is what he meant. Otherwise if they want to put it on consoles great. I will play this on a PC though. I don't know if I feel comfortable using a controller for it. I own a PS5 but its for other kinds of games.

I thought this will be the game of my dreams, everything that Warband already had in better, bigger and expanded (+4k sheep texture).

Boy was I wrong....
Literally all I was hoping for was (1) Warband's feature base but with (2) better sieges, (3) better graphics, (4) better mod support, and (5) all features operational.

For a studio of 100 employees such a simple sequel should have taken 3 years tops.

Here we are 8 years of development and 2 years of early access later and not only have they still not completed (1) and (5), but the game is actually overall LESS functional than Warband and they're going to release this?

To be fair, I think there's a menu option to turn this off.
Good to know honestly because I would have looked for a mod to remove this in my next play-through (after all this mess has settled).

8 years? It started before 27 Sept 2012 - that's over a decade
