Cavalry turning their backs on the enemy?

Ok, so I don't know if this is the place to post it or on tech/bug report support. Maybe there's an in-game solution like a command so that's why I've posted here.

Almost every time I try to wait with my cavalry on my corner for the enemy army to come (hold this position), my cavalry TURN THEIR BACK ON THEM!

I mean, if you're fighting Rhodok Sharpshooters, you definitely want you cavalry with the shields facing the enemy!

So, have you ever experienced something similar? Any way to fix it?

Thanks!

Edit: v1.153

Yeah, same problem here. Looks like the cavalry just gets to the place you ordered them to be, but doesn't actually point at the enemy.

It's the same with archers/infantries if you tell them to hold fire and hold a position, to solve the problem simply tell them to hold position again and maybe move 1 inch from the original spot and that usually solves the problem.

I don't think it's true. When I order my Sharpshooters to "Hold this position" they get in line, and point towards an enemy. Same with the infantry too. But when I order my cavalry, they just get in line without pointing at the enemy.

Hmm, happens to my game though, but to think about it, the horses of the cavalries aren't 'stable' and they move every so often, maybe thats why they turn back most of the time?

It is bug probably. Look, battle starts, Cavalry charges in front of you, but you stay on your position. They are ahead of you, and you tell them Hold this position. They turn back and go where you ordered them. When they reach the line, they won't turn towards an enemy, but they will just stay in the way they came, and in most cases, it is turning back at enemy. Do you get me now what I wanna say?

Oh ok, I get it.  But you could just 'fix' it by stepping forward and tell them to hold that position or order advance 10 steps.

Yeah, but that is not the point. The point is actually that they need automatically to turn towards enemy.

did this start to happen resently?? I never had this problem and I once conquered calradia with a full swadian knights army (they never did that)

Well not recently. As long as I play I know it happens. And I use too Swadian Knights, and I conquered whole Calradia with them. Maybe you haven't paid too much attention on this.

that could be the case, but to be honest I doubt it, I love to look at my formed line of knights before charging (gives kind of a movie feel to it lol) and I never saw them giving their back to the enemy

There was an argument about this way back on the forum but it seems that the devs did try to repair the problem.  On recent patch I personally havn't met any of those problems with any troops whatsoever.

This should not happen in any version other than 1.150-1.152. This was fixed for Infantry (ranged or melee) with the 1.153 patch.

As for cavalry, @OP is this with 1.153? I'd thought that 1.153 helped this long standing cavalry problem. If not, best solution is as suggested: use the flag to have them hold position a bit behind where you want and then give the Advance order once or twice and they'll sort themselves out.

I play a lot with cavalry in 1.153 and they seem to be trying to turn around, but get in each others way. I use the go ahead a few seconds and then hit hold again, works well enough.

Just as an aside, if you play mods that allow formation, you have the same problem with cavalry trying to get in formation.
