Anyone know of a easy to use, preferable free or cheap and I could not resist buying program that is good for making map.
I am not thyat good of an artist, I'm ok, but I am like -1 skill point worse on the computer with paint.
Preferably free.
Easy or not too hard to use.
Can make maps for eg, nation states (of countries), etc.

I suggest Dundjinni or Campaign Cartographer 2, but neither are free, unfortunately. Edit: If you have Neverwinter Nights, a good option is to make whatever you want in the editor, then zoon all the way out and take a screenshot.

I don't have neverwinter unfortunately, I'll be looknig into it soon though. Closest I have is Civ2.

I dont have any skills about this, so plz dont send me to hell if I´m writing something that hurts your eyes.

You could see the geenral map of Morrowind, take a screenshot and then remade it to fit a M&B one. Or a populous map, even a Age of Empires I or II could fit is it possible to "fix" them and turn them to M&B.

I find that drawing the map by hand and then rubbing a used tea bag onto it gives nice results. Though, you proberly want something more proffessional.

Draw it, scan it, outline it, add some effects et voila. As far as programs go.. there are a few free ones out there, though Campaign Cartographer 2 is still the best. You can basically use it by downloading the trial and just making screenies of the maps you create (you can't save them with the trial).

I agree, drawing by hand is probably best. It gives the work something unique about it rather then created by a program.

You could scan it in, and then trace over it with Flash or Illustrator if you want some really clean lines...

Civ2 Map editor, and custom graphics.
Drawing, well, I jsut can't decide and my maps are some of my better drawings and details get lost in the pencil.

The campaign editor is annoying me I'll figure it out, except the few icons it comes with are WAY to big.
And registering costs WAY WAY WAY too much.

You should be able to resize the stuff in CC2. It's basically just a CAD program with art for fantasy maps.

I think you can resize them by right-clicking and changing the number in "scale"...

I used one program one time... It was almost like that Campaign Cartographer 2 only free...

I am figuring it out. I like it. I mgiht add stuff in with paint but only little details.
