Buy misc goods, put them in your stash, pull them out, sell them to the city, buy them back, then put them in your stash again. easy trade xp.

In the skill's description, it's write : How to learn : ...Operate caravans
My trade skill is actually 144, i think i've understand the concept
but reach highter level is very long, and got passive xp with caravan will be good (like the skill who give you renown passively)

yeah most skill leveling and perks are broken at the moment. hopefully they'll be fixed soon but very little is working as it should be.In the skill's description, it's write : How to learn : ...Operate caravans

Nearly a month later and I'm not getting XP from operating Trade Caravans.
Well, maybe i'm wrong but i think that this "operate caravans" is for your companions only. For the player the only way of earning xp is to trade by yourself. Caravans give trade xp to its leader it seems

Trade caravans also plow into large stacks of mountain bandits and die. You don't get any XP for that either. Companions with trade skill don't make any more money leading a caravan than companions with no limbs.
When I heard you could have trade caravans in the game, I thought it sounded like a cool idea. I was wrong. Very wrong.
The way trade caravans work they are simply a gamble with low odds of success. In the early game they kind of work, but once the bandit stacks grow large they are doomed.

Unfortunately, companions don't seem to get any trade xp from running caravans either.
