Resolved Caravan Ambush Failed Unexpectedly

I seem to have found a very unique problem. I was doing a Caravan Ambush mission and, rather than rescue the caravan like you're supposed to, I rode ahead and attacked them with my troops since I wanted them to get all the EXP. However, to my surprise, the bandits surrendered to me instead! I knew this might end badly, but decided to see what would happen. Once the caravan reached its target city, the quest failed.

I've uploaded my save file, but it didn't seem to give me a link I could share it with. I gave a brief description of the problem in the description though, so I'm sure you'll be able to find it.

I do have a mod active, but it isn't one that would affect normal gameplay.

Hi, we have received your save file. Unfortunately, we cannot know exactly which mod alters which game file. Which mod do you use? Have you used other mods and removed them afterwards during the same playthrough?
