Capturing the Noble

I suggest a new order: LEAVE THE FREAKING NOBLE ALONE!!!!

Hem, sorry, but I've been trying 6 times in a row to get the damn noble, and even when I manage to corner him, I never have the time to finish him, my army falls on the guy like a flock of crows ~~

The game seriously need to allow the player to be able to challenge the enemy leader, imho it would be perfect for the mood of the game: when there's a big dude, we have a big duel while the troops play together, you push a key, your guy screams "I chalenge you, general!" and when you do that, the general goes after you, and nobody else than you will go after him. Would be cool AND handy.
Oh, and it is not normal that if the guy is knocked inconscious by someone else than you (I gave Borcha a warhammer and he KOed the noble in my latest atempt), the mission is still failed ~~

Just tell your guys to dismount and/or hold their position, then either ride the noble down with a jousting lance or beat his skull in with a military hammer.

I tried that, I tried having my whole army stand in a river, etc, but what's the use? The noble is in the middle of his guys, they all charge together, so he ends up in the melee, and he dies first because he has no armor. And I don't feel like going all alone against 15 knights, all with spears or jousting lances ~~

Mwarf, I finally managed to stun him somehow, problem is, obviously... it's not enough. I don't know, maybe I should have left the battle right away, coz I got stunned too, and decided to go for a second round 'there was one guy left ~~), well, anyway, mission was still failed. So I don't care anymore, next time they want me to capture a noble, they can go hang themselves.

edit: scratch that, I did it once last time, this time just to get rid of the damn mission, and I stunned him again, and it failed again, while I whipped his band clean. It's totaly lame ~~

Remember, you have to use weapons that do Bludgeoning dammage like a club or Hammer. And then capture him like you would a prisoner, then take him back to the Lord/King for your reward.

I dont find them hard, i have my normal Blade and the Warhammer in my weapon slots and ride out to kill his men, he usualy comes as a renforcment wave on his own, so i stick about the spawn with my hammer, and start clubbing him as soon as i see him. my horse is faster than my knights so if he spawns with the first wave i ride though his men and let my troops deal with them.

ive only faild one of those missions and thats cause i shot him with my crossbow by accident

I did, I had a warhammer. Just didn't work, don't know why.

Well, they were 11, him included (I thought they were 16 when I first posted, but no), so they were all coming in one wave, and he was always right in the middle...

Anyway, is my suggestion that bad? I prefer to have a cool duel than have to try tricks in order to be able to achieve a mission ~~ I've had such a bad time on that mission that I will never bother trying one again, to be honest :???:
Plus the damn guy was annoying, stepping back like that... M&B is realistic, but guys who fight while stepping back, that is not realistic at all... They step back as fast as we go forward :???:

It isn't really that hard, as long as you have a decent horse. Just ride in a circular pattern. The enemy will follow you, and since they always ride straight towards you, if you keep turning, they'll occasionally come within reach and you can take a swing at them. The noble will come up sooner or later, and in the meanwhile you can knock out a few of his buddies.

As for your suggestion; nope, sorry, I don't like it.

I call that an exploit, and I don't see the fun or the realism there, but that's just me, I guess ~~
