Recruit
So I'm a Rhodok count who owns Ahmed..Achmed...Ahminada. That city, yeah, and Bariyye and I have completely destroyed the Sarris. But now I have 14 Sarri Emirs and Hakim in my dungeons and no way to get rid of them.

They wont escape but no one can ransom them. Help?

Um, add them to your prisoners with your party and hope they escape then try to recruit them? Put them in a prison in the mountains you never go to?

Keep them in your party as prisoners, capture an enemy keep and put no troops in the garrison but them in the prison.  Let them get rescued.

Re-birthing the faction?

They won't be rebirthed if you've already received the "faction eliminated" message

Interesting... So let's say you leave a castle pretty much un-garrisoned, and set some of those lords free, what's going to happen then?  It seems likely that the "lord" will conquer it, but what will the faction be called?  "Independents"?

No, lords that escape or are set free through conquest will join one of the existing factions, eventually.

I had eliminated Vaegir in my current game (they started it, dammit) and several of the lords remained on the map, just stuck and wouldn't do anything. I eventually just recruited them into my kingdom. The thing is, the elimination message never came up, so the game proceeds to act like they're still around, even though they own nothing and I can't find anymore of their lords around the map. And once they declared peace on me, lol.

If you go into notes/factions, does it say vaegirs have any vassals?  And if so, when you check on them, what does it say?  Just curious.

Thanks for asking because in the end I was able to solve this issue.

Yes, there were 20 lords left (minus the King) of the faction, they all said no fiefs. The faction said 4% lords are disgruntled, 45% are restless, and "It occupies nowhere."

Looking through the list of lords they all said 100+ days old for last known location, except for three. I was able to find those three, had them switch to my kingdom (probably could have just fought them if I didn't want them to join). They were just sitting there doing nothing. I'm wondering if they don't leave like the rest is because a member of their family moved to my kingdom. Not sure.

A couple hours later they declared war on me.
An hour or two later they were no more, lol.

And slowly members of the kingdom go to a random faction according to the game log.
