If you keep a captured lord in your prison (castle or town, not party)  will you eventually get the message of ransom?  Also what purpose do regular captives serve in the prison?  Do they generate revenue over time?

If you keep a captured lord in your prison, you will get the message eventually.

Regular captives get softened up so you can take them out and recruit them to your party, then stick them in as a garrison so they don't run off at night.

This does not help. The chance to capture is a straight 20%.

Feels like 10%...complete nonsense. Defeat means nothing to you or them.
