Need More Info Cant start a new game

Summary:After im done with character creation, and try to name my character (last name), game crashes
How to Reproduce: Just start a new campaign, and create a character, then highlight the name area
Have you used cheats and if so which:no
Scene Name (if related):
Media (Screenshots & Video):
Computer Specs: playing game through NvidiaGeForceNOW, and through steam
OS:
GPU:
GPU Driver Version:
CPU:
RAM:
Motherboard:
Storage Device (HDD/SSD):

I dont know, game was shut down since i reported the problem (at least in GeforceNow)

I just upgraded the game to e1.8.0.321460!
I start a new campaign, create a new character, and try to name my character.
The game don't crash but I'm stuck on this screen!
Note: I play in French language.

I'm gonna go out on a limb here and say you're on Win7 or Win8. The workaround for now is to run Process Monitor in the background. Run ProcMon64 as admin and if it fails to load, the Internet Archive has older versions that work for many. Also limit the log size in Options -> History Depth to its smallest setting (1 million) or it'll eat all your RAM. You can also remove all the filters and enable Filter -> Drop Filtered Events.

Unfortunately for OP though, GFN users will have to wait for an official fix.

Indeed, I am on Win7!
As you advise, I have downloaded Process Monitor v3.33 and run it in the background. I started a new campaign, and the miracle happened, I created a new character!
Congratulations for your tip, it worked for me!

I still ask a question, why is this program necessary in this version?
