Can't run game after installing (0808)

ok so i've downloaded the latest version of the game from your official web-site and after installing it, when i try to run it, i get this error

Themida : Cannot find "d3dx9_27.dll" Please, re-install this application

i've tryed reinsalling the game for like 2-3 times, and got directx 9.0c

what's wrong with it ?

any1 please help

You need to download the latest Direct X from Microsoft. Should be dated to November at the earliest

Download it from the microsoft site (It's very near to the top of the page).

The february edition is out now.

one of microsofts bigger mistakes imo, why the .... couldn't they name the newer versions 9.0d , 9.0e etc .. as it is now with 30 different versions of DX9.0c things are pretty confusing...

I have exactly the same problem... if it helps.
I have the latest version of directx (feb07) and tried reinstalling both several times. dxdiag says no problems.
Version .750 works fine though, so playing that...

Try downloading & installing the Direct X SDK (head for Microsoft downloads and search for "Direct X redistributable for developers")

I just downloaded the game today and am having the same result. It simply won't start, or at least go further than popping up as a small white box in the corner of my screen. Then this wonderful error message appears.

I've downloaded the current version of DX9 and my machine will run everything else I put before it. I disabled my virus protection program (Panda) as well as Spybot to see if that would make a difference but it didn't.

Check the drivers are up to date for the video card & graphics card. If that don't fix it, run msconfig and try disabling everything, restart then try it.

Ok I tried what you told me and it doesn't work. I get the exact same error. I also tried to re-install it to see if installing it while my virus checker was active did anything to it.

Well I have got mine working! 
-this might also fix ices problem, though it sounds like deadmeat has a different issue:
-Install the DirectX End-User Runtime Web Installer (found while looking for the SDK, -Thanks Archonsod) This looks for updates and installs them in the right place, which I think was my problem...  It will be found at:http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/xna/aa937788.aspx

I had this problem, and loading the new DX didn't work. I guess I had lost the DLL in question, so it couldn't update it. Anyhow, you can search for specific DLLs and drop them in by hand. This may work for you - it did for me.
