Can't participate in big sieges - vertex buffer crash to desktop

It doesn't matter if I turn the battlesizer down to 100, when reinforcements and new enemies arrive and alot of troops are on the screen in battle, I get unable to restore vertex buffer crash.  I have played SoD, as well as custom settlements and even native with battlesizer to 300 and not one crash.

Is there anything I can do with EGIII so I don't get this crash?  Has anyone else been able to fix this?

Thank you.

try DirectX7 instead of 9? Turn down more graphics options?
I'll see if there's something I can do to improve performance later.

Honestly, i know it sucks but just turn all the texture settings down to 0%.

With the HDR and graphics addon it doesnt look too bad. I get that problem all the time, which is weird seeing as i can play the game with HDR on, 250 battlesize, max settings and keep a steady framerate. Sieges always crash for me though.

Also set ragdolls and corpses to 0.

Thanks guys.  Yea it actually would help if I read the FAQ's.

I turned my texture and other graphics settings down and its fine now.

Sorry for the thread, should have looked first.

same thing has happened to me twice in a row. Ill try lowering settings but idk if thats what it has to do with it. Right as the siege Tower lowers the bridge I crash, i've been able to handle huge fights before though and my PC surpasses the requirements of this game by far :O

works now. Strange? :X

nvm.. Now when the siege was almost over it decided to crash lol

No way im using DX7, it looks terrible. Are there other solutions? This Crash error makes 0 sense.

I had to either play in directx9 but ALL at the lowest and 150 battlesize or play with directx7
Some textures are always high quality (like some axes) and there is a lot of high poly items and very different. It's almost impossible an error happens against bear tribe: they are all the same with normal gear, but against rhodocks for example, all those helmets and different weapons and armors...

There is a patch that makes it look less terrible.

I've got the same problem. It's annoying, but I guess I'll just have to temporarily lower my settings when sieging then.

Cheers lads,

Go into Options, hit Video Options, and then lower your settings for the battle. Simple as that.  (though it looks bloody disgusting at low )

Usually, you will encounter these crashes when you are lagging a lot. So, if you want the smoothest battle possible, close all unimportant programs, stop any virus scan, and close any disk cleanups, defragmention, etc.

For Nvidia users with a newer graphic card (8400, etc) sometimes your global settings is switched to multiple display. This doesn't let your computer use all its power. To fix this, go into Control Panel, NVIDIA Control Panel, Manage 3D settings, Global Settings. Find Multi-Display, mixed GPU acceleration, and flick it onto Single Display mode.

I did that, it bumped my FPS from 20, to 50.
