Resolved Can't find companion

Hi!

I've been trying to recruit Ylva the Healer to my clan for a while now. I've been opening the encyclopedia, looking her up and looking up where she's been seen. Everytime when it says "seen at X place today", I just run to that city, because I'm just rolling around in the neighborhood. Everytime I get to the city, she's nowhere to be seen. I don't know if this is a bug or what is going on.

Can anybody explain this or have same problem?

I have this issue as well.

I choose the Hero I want to recruit, and go to the town they were last seen, but find they are not there. I stick around around long enough to confirm they ought to still be there, but I never see them. For example, if it is day 1, the encyclopedia may say that this hero was last seen at X today. I wait until day 2, and when the encyclopedia still says this here was last seen at X today, that should mean they didn't leave, right? During these two days I checked the tavern area periodically and the hero was never there.

I observed this in a campaigns I started in versions e1.0.5 and e1.0.7. However, this did not happen on the campaign I started in version e1.0.0; I played this campaign through e1.0.5 and never noticed this behavior, but it is possible that I just missed it because I mostly had my companions assembled by that point and wasn't recruiting new ones.

In my campaign started in e1.0.5, I also found it hard to find lords and rulers (didn't try in my e1.0.7 campaign). It seems like a similar behavior - encyclopedia says lord last seen at X today, I go to X and hang around for a few days and never see the lord, even though the encyclopedia still says the lord was last seen at X today. I understand lords are much more mobile than wanderers though, so it is possible I missed some comings and goings.

This issue is is keeping me from playing the game. Finding companions to add to your warband and seeking out lords (especially rulers) are core parts of the game; and trying to find these NPCs using guess-and-check is untenable given the scale of the map.

Same issue with the Padmos the Surgeon (I'm guessing it doesn't matter which companion it is though). The encyclopedia says last seen at Argoron today (that has been the case for many days now) but he's nowhere to be found.

Are you talking about when you walk through the city or on the notable NPC bar in the upper right hand corner? Every time I have lost a companion I just click their portrait there and select take hero to party

I have never had this happen. When the encyclopedia says a companion is in a town, they are always shown on the tavern display on the city menu. New companions mind you, not lost ones.

Started a new game and that guy is definitely one of the "new"* ones, checked the tavern, checked the town, nothing. He's still there according to the encyclopedia but apparently in a different dimension.

*new as in I scouted him through the encyclopedia so I can recruit him, I've never met the NPC before nor had him in my party previsouly.

I experience the same problem:
I am looking for "Sur the Spicevendor" for quite a while now, and the Encyclopedia always tells me "last seen in Askar today". She is nowhere to be found, not on the tavern display in the menu and not inside the tavern itself. I went to the city center and looked for her using the alt-key, I bribed the guards to enter the keep and took a look around, hell I even went to the dungeon and searched the cells. No Sur the Spicevendor in Askar. And the Encyclopedia keeps showing "last seen in Askar today" all the time, week after week! ?

Yeah, I checked the tavern display in the menu and looked around in the tavern scene as well.

Happens to me too. I Have eventually found the ones I was looking for but it's frustrating when you see that perfect buddy in the buddy catalouge, but there's no buddy to be found .

I am still having this issue in the current build. Twice now it's happened to my brother companion. On one playthrough I could not find him after we got seperated in a battle, and on my current playthrough I made him a caravan master but when he got captured and released, he is now stuck in the ether. It says he was seen at Dunglays today every time I check his page but he's never there.
