Can't Change Faction Colours With TweakMB

正在查看此主题的用户

I can change the colour of the player faction but in game it always shows up as red, the colour of the player supporter faction. (What is that faction anyway?) I have tried starting a new game and making the player and player supporter factions the same colour - always red.

I'm using TweakMB to do this and it claims to support Warband- so what's the deal?

You're right.  I just tested this and it looks like the game will simply ignore any changes you make to the player faction color.  The text file is being modified correctly and the other faction color changes work, but I guess the game just overrides the player faction color no matter what.  I'll probably keep the option in there just in case it changes at some future point.

Also, this probably belongs in the TweakMB thread

Just an FYI, I did manage to figure out why it's not working.  Apparently there are about 4 different places in the game where the player supporter color is explicitly set to red.  I'll have the tweak corrected in the next version of TweakMB

1.) I noticed you didn't mention correcting the player faction. Is that not what faction you get when you take a castle? All I care about is being able to change that colour.

2.) Will you be including anymore of the 82 tweaks from the thread? There that really should be included.

3.) I this next version a soon or far off kind of deal?

The player faction color works correctly - as far as I can tell it simply refers to your specific party, but not to anything else.  I called it player faction because that's what it's called in the text file, but I'll probably re-label it for the next update.  The player supporter faction seems to be the one that refers to your actual kingdom.

2.) Will you be including anymore of the 82 tweaks from the thread? There that really should be included.

TweakMB is usually updated at least a couple of times a week.  New tweaks are added all the time!  I actually don't use the 82 tweaks thread much at all anymore - if there's a tweak I want to add, I usually just figure it out for myself.

3.) I this next version a soon or far off kind of deal?

The short answer is that it will be whenever I get around to it .  That said, given the normal release schedule, it will probably be within the next week or so.  Be patient!

Many of the tweaks in the 82 tweak thread still work as far as I can tell. Obviously it's your decision but I for one would like more them included. Food for thought.

e.g. the colour of the faction.
Player' Supporter is your faction. Player's faction is just your party.
edit: On a second thought, I think just the faction colour requires new game

Perhaps actually reading the thread next time might prevent this vapid redudancy. . .

Could someone please list all the locations for the player kingdom-faction colors?

I have changed everything in faction.txt to my color of choice, both player faction and player supporters to "purple"  My castle is still red.

I have changed things in conversation.txt to purple, my faction is still red.
I have changed things in scripts.txt (player faction activate), my faction is still red.

I wants my purple faction.  I have used both TweakMB, Modtools and my own personal Search&destroy coding to try to suss out all the locations of my player color.  To no avail.

I hate this color red.
Please Halps.

(Note: I have started new games every time i edit something, requiring me to build up to the point where I can take a castle, and then rage when i discover it's shinning redness.)

Color list:
My party - Purple
Patrols that run around - Purple
Ismirala Castle and Ismirala - Red
"recruiters" from Ismirala Castle - Red

PlayerFaction color = Purple
Supporterfaction color = Purple
Color to turn when abandoning a claimant = Purple
Color when with a claimant = red (I think? Havnt found it)
Color in "Player faction activate" script line = Purple

welcome to the fun times of NOT starting a new game when you tweak things

Actually i have started a new game every single time.  For every single edit.

EDIT(repeated):  Looking in party templates I noticed something.
Recruiters have "show faction" selected and are "Neutral" faction - and appear Red.
Patrols have "Show faction" selected and are "commoners" faction - and appear purple.
Villagers DO NOT have "show faction" selected, are "innocents" faction - and appear red.
Hero party and Kingdom hero party have "show faction" selected and are "commoners" faction - and appear purple (assuming hero is me).

In Parties.txt
All towns, castles and villages have "show faction" selected and are "neutral" faction.  These are their faction colors, but for player are red.

Does the inability to change player kingdom color have something to do with this?  Possibly the difference between "neutral" and "commoners"?    I understand that this cannot be changed, as it would affect behaviors.  But it might mean i'm starting to understand why player kingdom colors are so intractable.

When you change the player color it really changes correctly, but the MAIN FACT IS THAT the player color is already saved in the SAVEGAME file and any changes in the other files will NOT affect the savegame, therefore you should either start a new game after changing the color OR find a way to change the color in the SAV file.
