Can't besiege new castles for my own kingdom.....

Hi all!

I besieged and took a Khergits castle (the T..., at the edge of map), but now I found I cannot besiege other Khergits towns anymore - there is no such option even after I captured the lord of the target castle. What should I do to get the menu item showing up again? Is there any way to mod the game so I can always get the option to besiege?

PS: I don't want to slaughter those poor famers again ......

In fact you don't even need to kill them. Simply demand something from the caravans and then choose "leave" on the pre-battle-screen

hmm I repeated it several times. Now I have relationship worse than -40 with the faction and that lord (escaped back), but still I can't besiege it

I hope you don't mind me using this thread for my question, but I've got a fairly similar problem. I have -43 relationship with the Vaegirs, I besieged their castle (my first siege) and took it, and now I can't make my own kingdom. It says something like "Queen So-and-so (the Swadian queen) would never accept it since you are not her sworn man.". Is it because I've aligned myself with the Swadians, yet I'm not their vassal? The castle turned blue and is Swadian now... I just lost 50+ of my best men for nothing.

You cannot be working as a mercenary to rebel I belive, in theory, rebel = just quit your oath, and you will have your propieties as a rebel. If you are working as a mercenary, you did conquered the castle for the Swardian empire, so it belongs to the queen's decision.

If you want a castle for yourself, quit the job and conquer it. If you want to give it a try to get the castle after the queen's judgement, you NEED to be a vassal of her, and not a mercenary.

Thank you for the fast answer.  I guess I'll just rebel then, although it could be a problem if they decide to besiege the castle after it's mine... I lose half of my troops taking it. Being a vassal probably has its benefits, but I'm too lazy to wait for the offer; I just want to have my own kingdom. Off in search of the Queen now, to tell her where to shove that merc contract!

If you want to have your own kingdom, you can just quit the job, pick a target as a kingdom, kill a few caravans and patrols so you are hostile with them and siege a castle. You really dont need to oath and then rebel. Thats the way I am doing, I started with the Nords, got 2 castles, they were trying endlessly to siege them, finally I got their lords arrested and inprisioned inside both castles, there were like 1-2 running free, after that all you need to do is gather troops and deal the final blows, aim for Towns so you can get more and more money, make sure to have peace with the other factions otherwise you will see yourself in a bad situation, like trying to siege towns and castles from your target and 2 other empires burning your villages and invading your castles.

Also, make sure to be prepared before you do all that, have some elite units, a good amount of knights, kill bands of mercenaries up on the snow area, free the Female Peasants, turn them into Lady Knight, you will have to fight 2-3 lords sometimes because you will be all alone against your Kingdom Target. So take your time if you need to hunt mercenaries and level up yourself and your troops, make sure to have a good amount of money too. Search in the taverns for Lady Knights, Sword Sisters, Sword Mistress, Camp Follower, they all can be turned into Lady Knights, which is an amazing for a cavalary.

hmm I found the problem - it seems there is some kind of minimal size limit on my siege party. After I brought 16 mercenary crossbowmen the besiege option showed up. Too bar for the village I destroyed

Correct. You can't besiege a castle with 2 troops. That'd just be silly. The defenders would laugh at you.

Bah, they all died anyway... Nobody can beat your lord the shameless magic n00b!

CowardsMeatballs do not count in battle; they are there, but not in it.

Play on 140% difficulty and engage two squad of Templar Knights and two squads of Hospitaller Guardians (18 Templars, 18 Hospitallers). Without a horse. Then, for some spice, stick a squad of champion blackguards and four squads of Elite Rangers in. And do this with no soldiers with you.

Just talk with the King / Queen of the Kingdom for vassalage. You need a bit of renown and else improved relations will help (With improved relations, winning one or two Tournaments is already enough). I certainly suggest good relations with the King / Queen, as I believe it gives you better chances at getting a newly conquered Castle etc. (Not sure). Such situations are great, as you can then build up your Garrison and Army under the protection of that Kingdom and prepare for the day you secede (With a Castle, just take another Town / Castle, ask it to be assigned to you and take all your property with you when that request is denied) Of course, Towns help with income a lot.

Having good relations does increase your chance to be granted a castle, but unless you tweak the settings the most you can possibly get is an extra 1% chance to get it... and that's at 100 relation.

Huh?! n00b never fights fairly. n00b has the highest HP, best skills, rides the best horse, with best 2h sword(s) and armour(s), plus the Ctrl-H magic to revive him when needed.

n00b prefers to fight on foot though - He just rides the horse to battle and unmount - like ancient spartans!!!

Um wait, where can n00b meet the Templar Meatballs and Hospitaller Meatballs??

Well, that's not really any fun then.

n00b is still trying to figure how to manage his kingdom and ensure the well-being of his people. Before he raises a normal army he has no interest in fair fight against meatballs

Why not? The horses in mountainous Cappadocia and Caucasia/Armenia, for instance, were very famous in classic and medieval eras. They were used for heavy/light cavalry and horse archers. Not sure about greek horses, but they shouldn't be that bad
