cannot start WARBAND at all on my laptop

I am quite confident someone can find a solution for my problem.  After all, when I first got this used  Gericom laptop from my girlfriend's brother, I tried hard to find a site for the drivers because the Gericom laptop series my one belongs to is discontinued and we couldn't find any installation software CD's from Gericom anymore. 

Back then, in summer 2010, I found some really old drivers specifically for my Gericom laptop on some unofficial website which worked and allowed me to play Warband. 

But last week I also wanted to install Vietcong 1, and that game had some issues with the driver.  I checked the company who took over reins @Gericom for updated drivers and found some. 

Now, these allow me to play Vietcong just fine, but Warband stopped working! I tried a fresh install with the 1.1.3.2 full .exe, alas, the problem remains: all I get is horizontally flickering black lines after the Tale Worlds logo was displayed.  Usually, the loading bar should appear, but that never happens.

I hope someone knows a trick other than "get omega drivers".  Tried that one, and then neither of the two games worked.

Also, I even fumbled around with this software allowing me to install recent ATI drivers on my old mobility radeon 9000 system.  That did no good as well.  Neither of the games worked.  So, I rolled back to the official Gericom drivers downloadable today from the manufacturing company (the ones you see here in dxdiag) which allow me to play Vietcong, but don't work with Warband.

I am open to all suggestions allowing me to play Warband again on this laptop, thank you in advance,

Well, I had decided to try out a rather old Omega Driver.  This one is Omega 3.8.252 which I was pointed to in a random google hit directing to some forum discussing completely other games. 

This driver is available at the Omega pages and now allows me to run Vietcong as well as M&B Warband on my old Gericom Laptop. 

Hope that helps any other gamers seeking for help with their crappy Mobility Radeon IGP cards.
