cannot activate my game

i have four characters at lv6 and i want to activate the game so i can continue. i bought the cd key and when i try to activate it the entire system crashes, this occurs with manual and normal activation.
i have a decant system more than capable of running mount and blade and i don't know what's wrong

AMD Athlon 2200+
512 MB RAM
64 MB NVidia Geforce 4 MX 440 with 8x AGP
Windows 98se

not brilliant but capable of runing M&B fine, yet i can't activate it and have other problems with the game, see in the bug reports section, i can't remember what thread it's under.
please give advice

How far through manual activation can you get? do you have an activation key?

got the key, bought it, got the e-mail and everything. i haven't treid it in a while because some idiot threw out the sheet with the key on, i need to recover it

Might be worth trying to unlock offline then.

First start M&B and go through manual activation. Write down the hardware hash no you get and go to the site it tells you. Put in the hash & serial number to get an activation code. Write the code down.

Unplug the computer from the net, go to start -> run and type msconfig. Hit enter. Click the startup tab on the window that appears and uncheck everything except

# ScanRegistry
# TaskMonitor
# SystemTray
# LoadPowerProfile (if it appears).

Restart the computer

Run M&B and go through manual activation again. Enter the activation key you have and it should unlock the game. Run msconfig again, recheck everything and restart. Plug the net connection back in and try running the game.

That should work. If not, it will rule out anything else running on the system from causing it.

You got sent an email when you bought the serial. If you have deleted that you can recover your serial here: http://store6.esellerate.net/store/support/ or you can ask armagan (PM him) to recover it for you (I think he needs at least the email address you used when buying the game to do that).
