Can you recover companions who became your vassals?

Once you give a fief to a companion, they become lords forever?

To the best of my knowledge once you make them a lord they remain a  lord.


I don't recall seeing them go anywhere after I join a new kingdom (happens now and then) so I am not sure if they just leave or what goes on.

Guides and manual should have a warning about losing a companion for losing another he/she likes in the party doing this 
I was ok, this 3 guys don't have party skills, I can get rid of them. Then my main healer left the party because there was 1 guy he hated and the woman he liked is now a Lady

sorry but ya wrong you cant imprison your own vassals!

If you decide to give up your kingdom or get wiped out, they eventually find their way back to you. Though it might get kinda weird because their parties are still on the map, but they're in your party (at least for me). So besides that way, I don't think there is any other way.
