Can you level Leadership without starting an Army?

Even Medicine, Heal Soldiers in Settlements. No. Give me XP for anytime a soldier heals back to full health and every time a soldier is wounded, not killed. I thought this is how it was before Early Access? I remember seeing this in videos where when a soldier got injured in battle, the player got Medicine XP.

it actually already works like that. If you pay attention you can see you medicine skill level up when one of your troops gets wounded in battle. It even continues to work if you're already knocked out.
It also levels up when you're moving on the map and your guys are healing.

I've found the only reliable way of leveling it is as said above to reach higher clan level, create companion led parties and recruit them into your army. You just have to remember to keep adding cohesion but it costs no influence (too bad it can be set to autofill).

The morale is just too hard to keep up. Food variety can give like +2? I tend to hover in the mid 60's usually if I battle every now and then and win. Rarely did I see myself in the 70s and never with 80+.

Well, I mean XP from leading soldiers directly in your party. Then, you can get additional XP from leading armies as it is now.
The surgeon gets XP for each wounded soldier in battle. I have noticed my companion level up medicine from time to time in battle.
If you want to get xp without being surgeon..that makes no sense? You specialize in your clan role, so if you want to get medicine up make yourself surgeon (and fight enough large scale battles).

join your faction in large battles, take all prisoners and go to a city of your faction, donate them into the prison. I have 2k influence now in my playthrough, no idea how to burn it all

Ah nice! See i have been doing this loads all except for the prisoner bit. Thanks for the tip! Seems to work well.

Yeah in the beginning its easy to sell them for money, but once you get further into a kingdom influence becomes the bigger need since you can easily get money from big battles aswell  glad i could help! Make sure not to donate them to a city you own, because that does not count!

It all depends on how much you hate the other vassals in your kingdom. With enough influence you can force a vote on taking a town from another vassal. Then you can use more influence to vote that the town goes to yourself. It's all rather sinister really.

:xf-cool:

So I tested all this out last night, played for 7 hours straight after work, had to drag myself to bed to catch a few hours of sleep before work

I cannot believe I didn't do this sooner! If only I had known it costs 0 influence to make an army of just your clan parties.

I'm a level 3 clan with 2 companion parties. I can keep them in my army indefinitely as it doesn't even cost influence to add cohesion. Even when I'm staying in a town, the companions in my army are still hard at work increasing relations with notables in the city. Best of both worlds! I was able to keep a steady 190-230 soldiers in my army at all times and I took on many battles.

I executed Ragnavad or whatever his name is (Sturgian king) last night, found that someone from his clan took over. Thought that was neat. Man I love this game

What do you guys think of them adding .5 leadership per year times your leadership learning rate per 100 troops in your party.
Ie. (.5 x learning) x (troops/100) . With ten troops and no learning rate that comes to .05 per year. With 110 troops and learning rate of 3 it is 1.65 leadership per year.

As a reminder a year is 4 seasons in game not 365 days in game.

i got Leadership lvl ups whenever i took a unit to follow me and went into battle. For example charging with cavalry following and my leadership gained lvl. However i'm not sure if it was caused by this specific or because of battle itself (situation not including army just my party)

Oh man, all I did was beat him up and sell him along with four of his vassals. I got like 10K for the lot plus the survivors of his army.

Yes you have to keep your morale high. Not quite sure the threshhold, but definitely higher than 60, although my feeling is somewhere around 80. Which means you need to have a big bonus to "current events", often generated by winning large fights.
no i think it's 60. Mine was leveling between 60 and 65. The higher though the faster it goes.
