Can we get more info in the patch notes?

There is a line in the patch notes that reads as follows:

  • Stats of some faction army troops have been fixed and rebalanced in order to maintain faction balance.

I would love some actual numbers on this. Did they fix the Sturgian units? Did they nerf something? By how much? The patch notes themselves are exciting, but this part feels incredibly barebones. I'd love some more details so I know what actually happened to the game. On that note, it would also be great if we could access troop stats directly in the game instead of having to rely on datamining and the like.

Does it really matter when everything is probably just going to change again anyways? I think this would be necessary if the game was actually considered finished and they were making changes but for right now I think the numbers are kind of meaningless.

I don't see why not, some dev has to have easy access to that info and I'm sure @Callum could get it. I'm going to assume when you say troop stats you're talking about armor values because we already know what their skill levels are. This has me wondering do regular troops or even lords have perks?

they changed some skill values, but nothing too major. but i would agree, knowing exactly what changed would be nice. just hide it in a spoiler tab if its too much for those who arnt interested. For example, they gave the sturgian ulfhednar throwing skill, they have throwing axes so it makes sense. but thats pretty much the biggest change I've noticed, most of them are +-10 or 20. Also they gave sturgian spearmen shields, much needed.

At some point they slipped the vlandian sergeants a two handed axe, rendering their shield useless in melee engagements. The sergeants have a one in three chance of being unable to use their shield, making them no more survivable than a billman. (the rest of the the time they still get swords and maces) I am not even sure which patch changed it, but I do know it wasn't in the patch notes.

There are also no longer any helmets greater than 49 armor, with most of them being 46 armor. This seemed to have happened with 1.1. Not really sure why this change was made.

I am clearly in the camp of wanting complete patch notes.

I agree, there is a real lack of communication here.
Patch notes are not detailed and they don't explain why they do things, I still haven't understood why the removed the night debuff for archers for example.
This lack of communication is not a good sign, makes me think they are panicking at TW and the state of the game kind of gives it away....

I personally don't know where one can find these skill levels. If it's available in the game, I'd still like to have it clearly visible in the patch notes as well.

Everything from damage numbers, armor values, skills etc. is of interest to me. It will make giving feedback a lot easier if the information isn't obscured from the players.

Select a troop in the party menu right click on the picture and it will show all skill levels or you can access by hitting the "N" key selecting on the troop tree and again right click the picture of the troop that you're interested in. I hope that helps.

I've generated troop trees in json and also version diffs that summarize unit changes for e1.2.0 --> e1.3.0
I also have a graphical interface, but it is sort of crap:
graphics: https://skulldrinker.com/troops.html
troop trees: https://skulldrinker.com/troops.e1.2.0.json https://skulldrinker.com/troops.e1.3.0.json
changelog: https://skulldrinker.com/e1.2.0__e1.3.0.diff

The last one is exactly what you are asking for. Be prepared for a wall of text. They changed a lot of things.

Wow! Great work with generating the diff! Thank you!

And good job TaleWorlds, it seems they finally fixed most of the mismatched troop skills, plus some general balancing of troops is welcome.
Although there are still some troops with wrong stats that I don't see in the diff, namely Imperial Armed Trader who has zero skill in Bow despite wielding bow as primary weapon.

This was a recurring theme throughout the multiplayer beta also; they would change something but give incredibly vague descriptions of what it actually did.

Honestly, the change log shows why they DIDNT include it in the patch notes. That’s just a lot of “this and that”s to bury the pertinent information

It has been in the game since release, why would it be in patch notes a month after? Or do you mean the changes?

This is fantastic! Great work! But, I'd still like this info from TaleWorlds directly, and not from the courtesy of people like yourself.

Sturgian tree seemed "fixed," iirc Aserai got some benefits, but Battanians still have some mismatched equipment and stats, i.e. mounted skirmishers with bow skills, oathsworn/spearmen with riding

Veteran Falxman doesn't have a falx. -_-
