Can we expect a fix for the AI being unable to use long melee weapons at release?

With 1.8, for some reason or another, the AI forgot how to handle longer melee weapons. Right now, units like Battanian veteran falxmen are useless because they get too close to the enemy and bonk them eith the weapon's handle instead of using the slashing part of their rhomphaia. The problem is even worse with cavalry that use stabbing polearms.

@Duh_TaleWorlds can we expect this bug to be fixed for the release?
