Can tracking skill identify lords/factions?

Has anyone gotten their tracking skill high enough to identify not just "War Band" and the # of soldiers, but whose warband it is? Or at least the faction it belongs to? Mine's at 11 (Deshavi has 10, I have 2) but tracks still just say "War Band".

If it's never possible to identify the lord or faction, well, I think that's something for the suggestions box. It would be cool if a very skilled tracker (8 or 9+) would at least be able to identify if a war band is Sarranid or Nord. (Not that I would want to go poking around someone's poop looking for undigested date fruit or smoked fish, but that's what Deshavi's for.) And a tracker with 10+ skill could even figure out which lord the warband belongs to.

I dont believe tracking stacks does it? Isn't that only trainer? In any case, I'd be interested in knowing the answer to this too - because then I have no need to put any more points into this skill if it can go into trainer instead!!!

Question: my guy got tracking high enough that I can see if it is a war party or deserters (as if I didn know by the numbers themselves)

whats the point of putting more skill points into tracking? does one get any extra benifit from it?

No, Hughes, tracking do not identify lord's name. About suggesting it...give it a shot. Tracking is pretty much useless at the moment. While its kind of ...unrealistic, it should identify at least race (swadian, nordic etc) and unit types (x horsemen, y footmen and archers)

"A single point in Tracking allows you to see tracks left by other parties on the world map. Additional points let you spot tracks from a greater distance and make each track reveal more information. "

The only advantage I have ever seen to having high tracking is the distance you can track from. It may not seem like much but when you are trying to track down a specific party in a heavily traveled area (like Khudan with all the freakin bandit parties around there) it becomes a huge help.

I like this idea quite a lot, I've found tracking to be disappointingly useless as well.

Very useful for the spy mission. But that might be about it.

Interesting ideas for improvement...unfortunately I don't believe any of it is mod-able or I'd look into it.

I agree, tracking right now is useless beyond 1 point into it.

The idea of poking around in a poop trail to find out which faction/lord cracked me up, though it is a good suggestion!
