I managed to d/l versions 6.22, 6.23, 6.30, and 6.32. The only version that works for me is version 6.22. It works perfectly and there are no problems whatsoever. All the other versions fail in the same manner:
I double click the icon and the game menu screen loads up. I start a new game. I select a class type, attributes, etc. I get to the face modelling screen and keep the same model or alter it - doesn't matter. I press the "DONE" button on that screen. At that moment, the party menu bar shows up at the bottom of the screen "over" the face modelling screen. Then the town screen with the introductory message box appears. If I press okay on that message box, I get dropped to Windows. If I don't touch anything, in about 20 seconds, I get dropped to Windows.
I've read all the customer support stickies, the various links therein, I've checked processes, threads, DirectX, turned the sound off in the config file, tried lower video options, and the only version that works perfectly is version 6.22.
Can a dev help me out? Or does anyone have a suggestion?
