Hey, im getting irritated. somehow i can not max MB, but i can max BF3, i see that strange.

heres my system :

Operating System: Windows 7 Enterprise 64-bit
    System Manufacturer: MSI
    System Model: MS-7681
    Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2600K CPU @ 3.40GHz (8 CPUs), ~3.4GHz
    Memory: 8192MB RAM
    Available OS Memory: 8172MB RAM
    Graphics card : XFX Radeon HD 6990 4GB GDDR5

I dont get it, couldent max MB either with my old computer, it had gtx 480 (should be able according to me)

maybe the game is bad optimized? anyone know why it lags?

thanks.

What's your problem exactly? I mean if you're that graphics horny that you're complaining about "maxing" a game like warband, what are you doing here?

His problem is that he can somehow run Battlefield 3 on max, but he can't run Warband on max, obviously Battlefield 3 has better graphics, so he should be able to run Warband.

Also, if you have nothing constructive or helpful to post, don't bother posting here in the first place.

I don't see how it's a problem though?
Because people like better graphics, MB is a great game so why not be able to run it on max. It makes it all the better!

The OP could have been more clear on what was problematic with his playing of Warband. By "lag" do you mean in multiplayer? Check your ping. By lag do you mean that the graphics seem to stutter in single player battles? Then search for the posts on "battle stutter" and you'd find the following solutions:

Anyway, the solution for me was simple.  In the rgl_config.txt file( in M&B WB folder in My Documents), I changed the render_buffer_size from 15(or was it 16?) up to 512. Seems to have done wonders since I've not gotten a single stutter since, even with battle slider maxed and hours of non-stop playing.

Also you could try:

Then you could try in your installation directory and specific module folder (...Mount&Blade Warband\Modules\Native\) open up game_variables.txt and add a hash mark # before every line that begins "new_buffer_size_" at the top of the file.

These might help the drivers out...not sure though.

Other than that, an indie game made for Dx9/7 not being as optimized on new flashy equipment as BF3 with graphics drivers specifically tailored to it is quite unsurprising.

Has anybody accutly tried these steps, because i want to see if it works before i go changing it in the mod im making. Because i don't want to give people something that doesn't work.

No, they've never been tried ever; I just like to re-post tweaks that many others have posted for fun.

Of course they've been tried, and, like all things performance-related, YMMV. Some folks report it fixes everything, others that it helped, others that there was no effect. It depends on the system and the particular nature of the problem. Distributing an altered game_variables.txt with those lines commented out, however, would not be advised.

If you have 'force vertical sync' on, turn it off.  I recently came back to warband after a bit of a break, with various upgrades to my computer, and my fps was max'n out at 60, with lots of stuttering. After turning vertical sync off I'm back up to 190ish fps with no stuttering.

Also, make sure your vertical sync on your graphics card settings isn't over-riding the warband settings.
