Can I have multiple versions at once?

First off, thanks in advance for any advice.

What I want to do is install an earlier version(s) of M&B, just to see what it was like before the factions and everything, and so I can use some older mods. Is it possible for me to have 1.011, and then use an earlier installer, but change the installation directory? I mean it seems like it will work, but I know some games that when the game is installed it will not let you install it again (you know, where it gives just the uninstall or the repair options). I just thought I'd ask before I tried it since if it goes wrong I'd lose my mods (over 1 gig of data) and my saves.

Again, thanks for the help.

(sorry if this isn't the first post on this, I tried searching and didn't find anything.)

Yes, this works fine with Mount&Blade. Note that mods that have installers will always point to the last directory you installed M&B to, which isn't necessarily going to be the correct version for that mod.

Yea, if you delete a older version, it will delete the newest savegames too. Its a bug.
Huh? Saves are stored in the My Documents folder. Manually deleting a game directory will not remove the saves; only the uninstaller can do that.

Yes I know. Learn to read: Yea, if you delete an older version, it will delete the newest savegames too. Its a bug.
You dont delete a game by deleting just the folder, virtually every game has register entries and/or other files in other locations
You use the uninstaller for that, and that thing deletes all savegames, including other versions.
