Campanions As Lords/Vassals

I had intended to give each counquered castle to a companion but I read today that once that is done they no longer level and can never again rejoin the party. This just baffles me. I can't imagine how the developers thought this would be a good idea.

Is there a tweak or a mod that allows vassal/lord companions to level and/or rejoin the party?

While, true I would much prefer taking them back into my party to do that. There must be a ini tweak to get it done. . . Or will this be addressed in a future patch?

Makes sense. You promoted them to Lord status, so as nobility they wouldn't want to rejoin you. It's also so you can't just go out, hire all the NPC companions, and then promote them to Lords then and there. You have to level them up first.
As has been said, edit mode is your friend here.

1.) Lord of no lord, nobility or no you do what the sovreign says of you face the executioner's axe. The fact that you lose a companion forever by giving them land is a moronic gameplay element.

2.) Will Edit Mode enable them to rejoin my party? That is my primary interest.

Only if you're female, as female lords are actually male lords, the game does not differ in this regard...
