Campaign story help

Stuck on the mission where you're supposed to get your mother back. I just dont have enough men to battle theirs no matter how many i kill i always get swarmed.  My save file only goes back to when i have to wait for them to arrive and it wont let me leave or even recruit my prisoners. Other than cheats or starting the campaign all over again is there anything i can do? This situation is pretty annoying.

Lower your difficulty and command your soldiers more effectively. I've noticed that your ally's troops will be decimated no matter which side you choose so you must basically win the battle alone. Use them as meatshields and have your soldiers flank around from the back to surround the enemy and perhaps win with your smaller force.

Well, king's troops should help if you got them. But, you can try some tactic, as use farm's walls or something.
