On probation
Hello everyone,

After the death chance drop from 10 to 2 and reading reactions of it, I decided to create this thread!

First of all, we all expect different experience from singelplayer campaign so DEVS, you cannot please everyone with these changes.

Let's approach differently and let players decide their experience?
I'll put a link from Conan Exiles here please take a look. You can customize everything that has a numerical value in the game before starting a singleplayer campaign.
You also have preset difficulty settings, but if you choose custom you can set anything you want and this is ****ing great so why don't we have something similar?

Just think how happy you could be as a player if you could modify:

Death:
Global Death probability from %0 to 100
Player Clan Death probability from %0 to 100
Player Death probability from %0 to 100

Birth:
Player Clan Birth probability from %0 to 100
Global Birth probability from %0 to 100

Time:
Days in a year from 1 to 365
Length of days in seconds (normal speed): 24-240

Progression:
Global Exp reward from %1 to 100
Global Money reward from %1 to 100
Global Renown reward from %1 to 100
Global Influence reward from %1 to 100
Price of items from %1 to 100
Player Clan Exp reward from %1 to 100
Player Clan Money reward from %1 to 100
Player Clan Renown reward from %1 to 100
Player Clan Influence reward from %1 to 100

Crafting:
Stamina spent from %1-100
Recipe learning rate from %1-100

You name it...

I just don't see a negative outcome of implementing such thing and the good side is It shouldn't be hard to implement just linking some values in your xml to a slider UI.

Please please please add this and everyone will be happy with their campaign experience!

Yes.
This is basically what popular 'mods' like Bannerlord Tweaks do. I've always found it weird that these things couldn't be configured in the actual game options. Why restrict the player's freedom to enjoy the game as they wish?

I just found a mode to adjust time related values. Mod's called Pacemaker and works in 1.5.6 but again, it should be in vanilla...

What happens is that people fiddle with the values (doing this is actually using cheats) and then complain that the game is unbalanced.
Whatever efforts TW makes with balancing is for the default values.
Yes, you want to see what happens when you push the sliders left and right, but that's mostly for the novelty factor or to make the game easier with cheats.

Having played Conan Exiles for quite a while I can also tell you that these are absolutely needed, since the game appears to be mainly balanced around multiplayer, which many developers seem to feel need to be the grindiest and most time wasting experiences on the planet because... Profit???

Options are generally nice, but the default should be the default for a reason. With many games in the same vein as CE it feels as if the actual balancing takes a backseat due to having the excuse that players can do it themselves.
