Hello,
Here are some silly behaviour I noticed from NPCs parties :
1 ) Possible bug : When you gather parties to your army, they seem to not buy any food on the way.
I regularly have to share my food with them.
When going to villages to buy food, allied parties buy nothing even if they are starving : I have to supply for all the army (they correctly recruit troops, so I don't have any villager to recruit left)
2 ) Bug : Companion keeps recruiting more men than their limit, and keeps having desertions.
This occurs to my companion Zoana the Black. She has over 80 troops when her limit is 70. I don't know if she refers to my limit, which is 90 something.
3 ) Stupid behaviour : Enemy lone parties keep chasing my party or my army even if I'm way too strong for them. Then, they run away.
This makes them run around doing nothing more than following me. The same occurs for allies against enemies.
They can have several parties around me, which sum is superior to my party/army, and they still won't gather an army to unite their forces and crush me.
4 ) Very stupid behaviour : When I'm chasing an enemy party, sometimes it will run into a looter or bandit party, and attack them.
Then I just have to wait until their fight is finished (I cannot get involved into a fight between two enemies, which is weird. I should. But anyway) and I got them.
Sometimes it's even worse : knowing I'm around, enemy parties keep trying to raid a village, allowing my army (which is slow) to attack them.
This happened to me in Aserai territory, while attacking it as a southern Empire vassal. Aserais raided villages that had been captured by our forces.
