Who are C&H, first of all.  Second, they're a famous and most excellent series of comics (in the newspaper style, not superhero) done by the now-deceased Bill Watterson.  Essentially, Calvin is a six year old boy and Hobbes is his stuffed tiger.  Read it.  Now.

A very interesting choice of names, Calvin and Hobbes. I presume that they are named (by the artist) after Calvin, founder of the Calvinists, and Hobbes, the pro-monarch philosopher?
