Kagos 说:
It is by definition but pointing that out is how you get *****ed at by the mods...

Why don't you go ahead and define it for us brainlets then

Can we not agitate Kagos to start with full-blown conspiracy theories again? Subtle hints are enough.

I wouldn't recommend it.

I just don't see where all the hype for a product not on the market comes from. Either I'm right and this will be the next Half Life 3 or I'm wrong and it'll be the next Duke Nukem Forever.

Dan, I just want you to know I blame you for untying this bag of despair.

I know and I am sorry; I was figuratively kicking myself almost as soon as I replied to him.

I just hope to god it's not stuck in development hell...

I think it has been, between 2012 and 2015, the years where we had almost zero information from TaleWorlds about the game. Something definitely went wrong, because you don't stop talking about your next big project, not when you know how passionate your player-base is about the project in question. Sure, it could have also been bad PR, but I'll wager that they've done a lot more work since 2015 than they did prior to it.

They actually told us that at some point in development they had to scrap most of their work and start over. Which is part why the game has been this long in development, since 2012.

Let's hope we at least get a release date this year. The last two years we were told they wanted to release the game in some form. What has happened in the last 2 years that keeps pushing the game back? I think we would like to see the game in any form TaleWorlds can release. I wouldn't care if the game needs constant patches, every game needs that these days. So I understand that TaleWorlds wants to make a game that the community loves. Chances are the community would love the current build. We just want the game in our hand to play with it and give feedback. Even modders could get started on their mods. We all know the mods are the reason Warband has done so well.

I guess that leaves us with early access...

Bloody hell, I must have missed that, is there a source I can read or something? If that's true, then we could well be looking at another 1-2 years!

I will search for it, I believe there are a few interviews where Armagan said so. Will update this post when I have found it, hard time finding it now.

And, yes, the big challenge was to make a platform for the future with this game. That’s one reason that it took so long. At the beginning, some of the choices that we made – technological and design – were suboptimal. They became limiting factors when we wanted to add more things, which led to having to do things two or three times. We’ve improved in that regard. But the most important thing is to make this a great game, which can hopefully then be a great foundation not only for mods and expansions, but for future games and projects.
Here it is.
