What is it with people that think a post on a separate thread takes up any more cyberspace than any other post?  I will prefer a relevant thread title to a collection under a vague thread title every time.

b.t.w. I am using dial-up and threads with a bunch of large attachments make it difficult to see the next attachment added. Those with massive bandwidth could keep in mind that there are others that don't.

1) Create a thread about historic imagery
2) Gather all the material in the first message in an alphabetical or whateveretical categorization, so that people interested will know how to browse.
3) Put the images in spoilers with relevant tags
4) Update the thread every time you add a new material, stating the content in the message

With all due respect, this is not your personal area where you can dump every **** you come by and people coming to check the board most definitely don't have to be welcomed to a cemetery of 0-1 reply topics of crappy drawings. It is ugly, it is disrespectful and it is no way convenient for browsing even to a person who is interested in them as they just keep piling on each other and it is impossible to know what has been shared in which page under what tag.

1) A person browsing should be given a clue about the contents without having to go to the thread. 'historic imagery' tells  next to nothing about the thread contents, nor if there is anything new rather than just a reply.
2) is only necessary because 1) is such a poor suggestion.
3) Putting an image in a spoiler does not stop it loading even if a person is not interested in that particular image.
4) is only necessary because 1) is such a poor suggestion.

Why not just imagine that the grouping is a sub-forum instead of a thread.

Your statement that "it is impossible to know what has been shared in which page under what tag" is just nonsense.
If you are not interested in "Byzantine Skutatoi on an Ivory Plaque, 10th century" then you know you can skip the thread. If the thread title is "Best Dressed Warrior" you have no idea if there is anything you may be interested in, so you either wade through pages and pages or you don't bother. Using 'Search' won't help if there are no captions because the poster sees it as self explanatory. But it is ok with me that there are such threads.

P.S. If anyone wants to complain about more than one thread then please start a new thread with that as the subject rather than using a thread that is about a specific topic.
